Tried to do the NL event this evening AFTER the new patch. Crashed 3 times during the boss runs. New patch did not seem to improve anything with the crash issue. Others who had patched were also still crashing.

Can you tell me what client you are/were using? Also, any 3rd party client you may have been using?
    Yep still crashed, didn't help

Can you provide me with the same information as above? :)

    Thank you both!
@ "Community Manager" - It seems to be less (maybe?) but I am also still crashing on CC even after the patch. It's all the same stuff as before and pretty random. I crashed earlier today when I was in Vesper waiting for a Commander and was running around looking for stuff to kill, but I've also crashed sitting at the bank in MG putting loot away. I'm running 2 accts at the same time.

Ok, thank you so much for replying back!

I use CC with UOassist. Still crashing. Windows 11. I think you need to post a message on UO.com welcome page. People getting mad. Just because you post "the update is taking longer than expected" does not even tell people your working on the disconnect problem. Added: I just crashed again 4:03 ET gating to Luna.

Let me expand on the problem. I have been getting disconnects after loggining in on a small scale for about a year. I'd login and wait because I knew in the 1st 10 min id go through a gate and I'd crash one time and then be good for the day. After the update at the end of August the game became unplayable. I have played for 28 years have 2 accounts.  I use CC and UO assist with windows 11. I have 2 different PC's not identical crashes happen on both. IMO you need to consider the influx of unapproved Clients is causing a problem only getting worse. Also friends that use the illegal clients dont seem to have the problem.

Thanks for saying that. Not everyone even knows there is an active UO forum. You should post that on the Herald on the UO.com welcome page

@Kyronix - This is BEYOND frustrating at this point. The patch put in today did nothing for the crashing and I crashed more tonight than I did last night; it's ALL while doing the event (CC). I haven't crashed in between the event when getting reags/repairs/etc.

I literally crashed 12 times from the 3rd Commander to Vic dying (within maybe 25min?). When doing Vic I crashed 6 times alone! I didn't get credit for killing Vic bc I couldn't stay connected / alive. I'm going to have PETA called on me soon for the amount of horses I'm going through!

In all seriousness though, this issue with the crashing is completely ruining this event for me with nights like tonight. It sounds like I don't even have it that bad because others are in chat saying they've crashed 20+ times within an hour or 2. At this point, I can't blame ppl for using unapproved 3rd party clients because at least they are stable.

Yes - we agree, which is why we are actively trying to debug every lead we can to get to the bottom of the issue and also why I asked that you PM me your account names and shard and times so we can look at crash logs.  Thank you for your continued patience.

@Kyronix CUO does not crash.  Does that help troubleshoot?

Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

    Unfortunately not.
  • I would kindly ask again, to please send in your reports of the disconnects with what client you are using, what you were doing and when it happened to uo@broadsword.com. Or, you can message me here or on Discord with said information. This will greatly help the team in investigating the issue.

okay, how about the EC? I've crashed 3 times today in the last couple of hours. It freezes up and then the client closes. you can tell when it's about to happen because it gets laggy for a few minutes right before. no particular place or activity involved.

Seeming like a memory leak on EC

Check you Version if your on CC should be 7.0.110.48. It's working for me, over 8 hours

Can you give circumstances of your EC crash? I've been through the NL event several times now and have not experienced crashes - just lots of death :D

Pretty well laid it out there Mariah, it doesn't have any rhyme or reason, it will just get laggy and then crash to desktop. works fine for a while does it again, appearing to be a memory leak in the UOSA process. it starts at low usage and then gradually climbs to above 2 gig usage before crashing. not much else i can say.

Had a few more today. I'd switch clients but the functionality of the EC has me locked in.

For what it worth.. I experienced memory leak on blade and soul.
The PvP arena.. every ~45 min we had to quit the arena to go back in.. if not, your client would crash.. like u said.. u'd lose FPS to the point the game is unplayable or the client crash.. (specific condition; only in PvP arena)

Another time I experienced memory leaks was on an italian MMO; Fractured I believe.. As soon u would stop moving your mouse for longer than ~3min.. the memory leak would hit you.. losing FPS at a way higher rate than BnS (BnS if u do not reset your arena.. log out/in.. you could be playing ~30min at 20-30 FPS before crashing.. but no one would do that with such low fps, the game was unplayable in PvP) but here as soon u were "idle" for more than 3 min.. like grab something to eat.. u needed to log out before, cuz if u come back 3 min later.. u would crash max 2 min later.

no particular place or activity involved.
Here you might not have realised it (sometimes u just cannot as a player) but there is 100% a pattern happening to cause that memory leak problem... sometimes it can even be a resource allocation problem.. like you open a chest or a vendor search.. after closing it your client still consider it as open o even a variable one.. knowing this was cause by a patch and they have an engineer playing with that at moment for CC/ server side changes??

    problem on BnS was:

On the other MMO (it was still in alpha):

All that to say, do not lose patience.. knowing the problem affected EC and CC at the same time after the studio did a content patch (for the event)
You know the problem is similar.. knowing they also have an engineer working on CC at moment.. it was easier for them to clear the CC problem first.. once they have the green light.. to know if the fix is good for CC.. they will do the same for EC.

PS: I could be wrong.. but i'd bet i'm not.  ;)
I'm no engineer but it looks like a RESOURCE leak, here.
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to automate the game.

It’s comical to me you are so frightened of somehow bod scripters get some sort of advantage.
