Suggested Fixes For City Lag

The lag on Atlantic at times incredibly unbearable. Here are my suggested fixes for city lag:
  1. Fix for Shattered Sanctum lag not working as intended. Regular monsters still leave corpses (as seen below) Moonglow, Trammel, Atlantic, northern part of city.
  2. Similarly to above, regular monsters that bug out and drop corpses have loot. Make them have no loot at all, would server resources generating loot.
  3. Migration of Atlantic to new hardware as Test Center and Origin have already gotten it. We need it on Atlantic bad.
  4. Targeted bans as we've seen on Arirang. These have been confirmed and are not rumors.
  5. Another fix for the cheat clients and log everyone that uses them and take action this time.

(this picture is used to illustrate that regular corpses are left behind)

I had posted this before but it ""magically"" vanished. Please do not delete this and allow the Devs to see it if they wish. It contains very constructive information, including that one of their 'lag' fixes are not working as intended.

Daily patches that only allow legal clients to log into UO is all that is needed.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

I agree with 4 and 5.  3 also seems to make sense.

not sure the loot in the corpses is relevant to the lag.

    hope these are implemented

Looks like they are doing #4. I agree they should do 1 shard at a time.

You are wrong. My facts are straight. The accounts were confirmed banned you can go find proof on your own as it's out there. Whether they were able to get them back from Mesanna or it was a temporary ban, I have no idea, that could be the case. I never said they were permanently banned.

  • I can't speak to what did or didn't happen on Arirang at some point, but as far as I can tell on Atlantic, the botting community has utterly triumphed over the development team. Everything is as bad as ever, any bans they've handed out haven't discouraged anyone. This event won't be salvaged, and it's unlikely that future events will be any better.

I'd bet money that we never hear official reference to "the war on third party" ever again.

If you don't like the lag on ATL, try going to Felucca. There's nobody there no lag at all. Plus if you see bots you can kill them

I found the city invasions on Atlantic unplayable. The Solen tunnels were great. You had different rotation of spawn, it was much more consistent and no lag.
The drop drop rate may be a little slower, but like doing dungeons in earlier events, plus you had none of the Revenant issues you have in Town invasions. you can dispel revs attacking others, your pet and yourself. Also worked out a system for farming powder and bags that could be done fairly quickly dependent upon you have available fungi.
