Did not read all of the responses here so this may have already been suggested. But since it sounds like you are in Tel Mur most of the time seek out Percolem the hunter and do the kill 20 toxic sliths quest over and over again. I think you have t…

Yes I am on Great Lakes. It looks like a big blue book but it does not open when I click-on it. I found Maragretas and Edwards ghosts together in what appears to be a small chapel in Trinsic. Neither would speak to me. I could not find anyplace …

This is the first online game I have played. Not at all familiar with the different platforms. A little embarrassed to ask but what is Steam? Thanks.

By the way if you are making spell books read the QOL Filling Spell Books discussion on this page. It has a method that makes it easy to fill spell books.

Yes I have crafted the spells and put them into books. The 5000 or so gold return does not justify the effort that goes into making the books so I don't make them anymore. But other players do. I just checked there are several for sale for 5000 go…

I've been playing about two years now and don't have a ton of gold in my account. Commission vendors have made a world of difference to me. I can now place rather pricey items on my vendor without having to worry about having my bank account being…

Do any of these have any in game functionality? Or, are they just some more decorative items?

75000 seems a little high to me for a basic book with 64 spells. On my shard they sell for around 5000 give or take a few 100. Do they really sell for 75000 on some shards?
-
It’s up to the player to set the price. On my shard sales have really slowed the last few months but my prices are in line with other vendors on the shard. Commission vendors sell mostly more expensive items

The comments about today’s chests containing fewer special items like forged pardons, surge shields and the like are correct. When no one knew what the mysterious fragments were for when they first started to appear a few years ago I would get one …

Mariah and Victim thanks for the info. Took awhile but finally got it to work.

Ok I give up. How do you set the book as the default container and how do you get the spells into it? Thanks

The problem is that UO does not offer any other alternative to third party vendors. If the official UO store offered more items I could use I would buy them from UO. I don’t consider at my age playing another 6 years to get the reward I want a via…

Oh, one more thing. Be careful to segregate the books you sell back to NPCs. Maybe have a non casting character sell them back. I accidentally sold them one of my better slayers. You don’t want to do that.

Is the perpetually young avatar that appears in New Haven advertising his website to new players multiple times every day since I started playing two years ago an authorized vendor? Certainly he appears to be an authorized vendor to new players. A…

Note: You can put you name on the exceptional ones. That always looks good.

I crafted them for awhile. Do a vendor search and buy some cheap items with high luck and make a luck suit. I only wore the suit I made when I was making books or turning in quest items to the Heartwood elves. I think I did about thirty books at …

Do the inscription quest to get the hallowed spell book an undead slayer that comes with all of the 1st thru 4th circle spells and two 5th circle spells. If you don't have anyone selling spellbooks, you probably don't have anyone selling the higher…

I don't find the EC one term search limit on bag searches useless. It is better than nothing and since bags are limited to 125 items it usually results, at least for me, displaying a small enough number of items that I can quickly find what I am lo…

Cannot agree more. Even basic rune books are a pain to reorganize. After the invasions I now have two filled jewelry boxes. I know what’s in there but where? Even the simple basic one word sort that bags have would be a great help. Also, with ru…

I use the map makers glasses +4. I do not think they make much of a difference. Maybe once in awhile. Does anyone know how much of a difference they make? Sometimes I get better results when I forget to wear them. Thanks.

Best bet is mentioned above. Get a commission vendor, buy low and sell high. Specialize in a few areas so you can recognize a good deal when you see it. Vendors set there own prices and a few offer really good deals once in a while. Check vendor…

I get most of my information on this game from third party sites on the internet too. Can't really imagine any new player without a mentor that provides them with the information on how to play the game and the assets they need to progress sticking…

Yes so far I have bought items only from the UO store and the EA site that sells various kinds of tokens. But, I don't buy much because neither store sells much of anything a newer player can use. The official store sells mostly dies and deco item…

Have to agree filling spellbooks is a pain. No longer sell beginner books because it just takes too long to drop 64 spells into them one at a time.

Does the circle show up on maps in the enhanced client? That would be really helpful as my maps are pretty small making them hard to read sometimes. But I don't see anything on them that I can use zoom. Thanks
-
Almost forgot. If you do the inscription quest you get the hallowed spellbook, an undead slayer which can be really helpful later on.

Basic mage: evaluate Intelligence, magery, meditation, resist spells. After that you can be creative. Inscription increases spell damage and is not too hard to learn. Tamers, Necromancers, and Mystic Mages often have the basic build. Spellweavin…

I’ve been playing now about two years and for me 15 million is usually more than half of what I have in my bank account. I buy low and sell high and do fairly well that way but most sellers do not sell that low that I get a windfall every time I sel…

What time does the clock that I think the tinker NFC’s sell keep? I thought that was the game time. Or, are you talking about something else?
