  • I had a mage like Gay’s except all skills were grandmastered except magery and eval.  Think at the time they were 110.  Poison field was very effective.  Casted it in front of things I got to chase me, let it wear them down a little and then killed …
  • Don’t think it’s a plot.  Game has always been about low probabilities and endless repetition.  If you invis. a lot that might affect your reward rate.  Think invis. while letting your pet kill everything lowered drop rates in the invasion event.
  • There is a command in the action menu that allows you use control shift to easily find the point to click on.  Will have to look at this tonight.
  • It’s the snow, decorations and little things like that, that make the game unique.
  • For a fighting mage Hooks Shield with the 15% defense chance increase, 10% spell damage increase and 1% faster casting would generally be the better choice.  Don’t think anything else in that slot increases spell damage and most other shields reduce…
  • Miss the snow.  Forgot about that.  Was there when I started about four years ago.
  • Agree mostly with Grimbeard.  But magery poison field can be useful at events starting off with with lower level spawns and for getting a few more extra points off of the bosses at those events.  Replaced it with spellweaving on my mage.
  • Interesting display is that cc.  It’s up and down all night long.  Check regularly and mark runes for your regulars.  Usually let’s me set the price range for the initial search.  Interesting it won’t let you set it back to zero to 179,000,000.  Und…
  • Hooks shield was easier to obtain than the earrings and it is always available for sale. For some especially unlucky players the earrings where really difficult to get as your chances of getting a pair was one out of 8 after completing the quest.  T…
  • Popps generally vendor search works the same way for me when they do maintenance.  It really tics me off when I get that Justice zone message when I am in my keep.  If vendor search is working at all, you can use it if you go to a Justice zone, but …
  • Last week or so it’s been unstable.  Updating shards time always screws thins up for a few weeks.
  • Yea, it’s going down again.  Really slow the last couple few nights. Maybe, a little longer than that.  Also, after several successful searches in my keep it thinks I am in the middle of the woods and grays out.
  • Just a quick note.  If you have some maps from the old days that generate a story type board when you read them, you might want to hold on to those.  Not sure what they are worth but they are neat.  When you dig them up you get a pyramid I think.  N…
  • Tattered maps are maps that need to be read by your treasure hunter.  Double click on them and you will get a message that will says either you failed to read the map or that you read it.  Double click on the map till you get the message you read it…
  • A lot of posts here but a newer player’s bottom line is you have to have a house and vendors, or someone you can trust that will put your stuff on their vendors.  Second, you have to specialize in several areas that provide a good rate of return and…
  • Commission venders allow newer players to sell expensive items that take awhile to sell.  It’s important to note here they do not reduce a players in house inventory.  They don’t provide that advantage you get with the other kind of vendor that allo…
  • It depends on the skill and the related skills the skill is used with.  For example, if you take magery and eval intel. to 120 think it makes a fairly big difference for a mage.  But, if you just take magery to 120 and don’t have eval intel in you t…
  • I think at this point Rocko’s comment is quite appropriate. I would that guess that enough different programmers have worked on this game that most of the original programming has been compromised to the extent that it has become a maze.  Also, don’…
  • For PvM I find it fairly easy to put together a suit that has that maximizes lower reagent and mana costs and has about 15 mana regeneration.  I rarely run out of mana except when a monster casts a spell that drains my mana down to next to nothing. …
  • Have to agree with you Keven, treasure hunters don’t have to worry too much about getting player killed doing chests in Fel any more.  In the three years or so I have been doing chests I have only on one occasion seen another player there.  But even…
  • It would be much simpler for everyone for UO just to admit which bugs can’t be fixed.  Maybe, but not required, give the why.  Can understand UO’s reluctance to do this but it would help them to justify ending some of these endless discussions.  Agr…
  • Agree with Popps on the chests.  After all they are treasure chests.  Should be a chance of finding real treasure in them.  Since you are in Fel. risking as much as you would be at a spawn, hoard and trove chests should have a chance of spawning som…
  • Honestly, if anything is happening , who has time to read the text.  Maybe, if I was 20, but then if I was 20 pretty sure I would be somewhere else.
  • Just so you know, Grimbeard, removing the decorations on the banks was a hot topic about a year or so ago.  Thankfully, UO allowed them to stay.  Think the issue with the memorials was that UO thought the future demand for them, given the age of the…
  • The death ray is a special more powerful and deadly than the other spells most of the time which is why UO fixed it’s range at 8.  I don’t like it either would much rather the range be 10, but 8 is what it is.
  • Most threads are appropriately closed but agree not always.  Some sensitivity training for the UO staff is clearly warranted.  This is a game not real life.  Some threads, like one of the recently closed ones, clearly require more intervention on th…
  • They don’t want memorials littering the countryside like the nine or less they removed from my shard.  They want everything to be uniform.  Not saying I agree with their logic that attempts to remove the human element from a game based on that.  But…
  • For newer players that qualify to have a house and that have a character that can get drops at the special events that last for a couple of months, they can make gold by setting up one of those commission vendors that charges a commission when the d…
  • Prices vary dramatically on some shards for certain items.  Just noticed this last week when I checked vendor search on Atlantic.  Had not thought this to be the case previously. This gives players that can travel a huge advantage when buying invent…
