If you are starting from scratch and learning how to play the game, EJ is all you need. Played EJ my first six months or so. As a grandmaster of seven skills with a suit you put together with pieces bought one of those nothing over 1,000 gold vend…

Probabilities have always interested me. Typically most players fall in the middle range getting close to the expected probability but there are almost always outliers that do much better or worst than expected. In this game with so many variables…

Too much of a time commitment for me. Not intended really as negative. This appears to be a team oriented game play and just don’t have time for that.
-
If you only got one out of ten it might be a good time to buy lottery ticket. My experience has been the probability of getting a kit is more like 60 to 80%. Generally speaking if you kill around 30 butchers with all other aspects being equal you …

You can use a weapon skill to gain but don’t remember skill levels required. A fencer using a poisoned weapon can gain poisoning from fighting. But a mage is stuck just applying poison to something. Using poisoning spells does not generate gains.…

Has always worked that way for me. Conditioned now to maximize window when I log on.
-
Good question. Gains based on probability of successfully performing a skill. Don’t believe probabilities apply to mastery skills but could be wrong about that.
-
Long time since I took poisoning to 100. Was perhaps the most boring thing I ever did in my life because of the long delay built in between attempts. Skill gains for poisoning if you are not a fencer simply appear based on your probability of doin…

Butchers seem pretty normal this year with a fairly high carving kit return rate, and Grimms seem pretty much the same too except for looking better. Grimms have been for at least the last three years just one or two per field. Think their spawn r…

Start backing off. If you are as old as most of the rest of us, you can do real damage to yourself if you play until your thumb starts to tingle and then continue to play. Sad but true. We are not as young as we used to be.

Shard bound items show upon vendors on my shard and I buy and sell them on my shard. I don’t play on other shards or pay much attention to them other than for a player on Atlantic who I use to check for prices there. I can’t travel from one shard …
-
If all players had access to vendors on shards other than just the shard they play on, you would not have an argument for shard bound. But they don’t. During invasion event most spellbook drops, regardless of where they were obtained, offered for …

Always opens in a reduced size widow. One click expands the window to full screen. No big deal.

Are some UO things I wanted to buy from EA. Guess these kinds of threads keep me from buying them. Really, after reading so many of these threads complaining about basically the same issue have no confidence in this game’s purchasing systems regar…

Think it’s hard enough for most of us.

So, was thinking about going to the EA site and buying a UO token for something other than game time. Is the message from this discussion saying all I will get for my money is a token, a thank you, and an apology? Honestly, do not see any message w…

Problem more is being stuck on one shard really puts newer players at a severe disadvantage when it comes to obtaining basic resources. Maybe NL will resolve this issue if players lose interest in playing on the other shards. Getting tired of seei…

Think many of these bugs are the result of UO’s servers and your servers just not being able to keep up with the action. Not sure we’re the fault lies but it appears to be more of a computing power problem than a programing problem. Maybe it’s the…

Not just sets. Most of the special stuff you get, artifacts and whatnot, is more or less junk by today’s standards. Not talking about special event rewards, those are generally useful, but the other “rewards” you get while just playing the game. …

Just as a comment think the stuff unique to cache and above chests has not been updated for years. None of stuff like antique swords or even skull tiled floor deeds has much value anymore.
-
Think this was just addressed in a previous thread. They fit in a sword stand. But as long as we are here - are those skull weapons in chests good for anything? Some look like they might be good for imbuing.
-
It’s there to catch the unwary treasure hunter or looter off guard making them overweight when they least expect it, like when the next monster jumps out of a chest. It’s caught me off guard more than once. Moral of the story learn to look before …

A slayer Spellbook that allowed the user to name what it worked on. Not that many invasion slayer spell books out there for those things for which no other slayer spellbooks exist.
-
Worked normally in New Haven last night. Notice in general log out and log in time regardless of location varies some from night to night. Never really timed it. Usually though talking about a lot less than 20 seconds.
-
Always wondered what they were good for. Pretty much leave them in chests anymore.

Getting tired of seeing this discussion. After 70 comments, maybe it’s time for an actual comment from a team member or maybe time to reveal where the comments can be found. Not everyone knows where to look. Pretty sure there have been some fairl…

Lots of really good leech weapons drop and lots of slayers.

Don’t craft myself. Make pretty good suits for myself from drops i find. But have to admit players with crafted suits have better suits. Last event in which luck played a big role saw one player that had crafted 190 luck onto all the armor the pl…

Think that explains it.
