I would also like to see the Tracking skill be more useful by giving either a pet control bonus or some Archer damage bonus. Or maybe a fishing bonus or resources bonus.

I like to keep my stats in the same range for all my characters, Usually 130-140 strength, 180 Stamina and 80-90 mana with good mana regen on armor.

This is not pay to win, it pay to change a ruined pet.

The idea they can be reset to random values is great as long as they keep the same color, its all about the color, not stats. My pet does not have to be perfect for me to be happy.
