In October of 2025 Discord announced they suffered a security breach.

A quick Google search reveals:

"In October 2025, Discord confirmed a significant data breach stemming from a compromised third-party customer support provider (identified as 5CA), which resulted in the theft of sensitive user information and extortion attempts. "

    Every large company has had security breaches.

    Don't use your UO account to log in.  You can change the name of what people see.

    I'm not sure what secure info is on mine.  They are going to extort "Joe Momma from Cleveland?"

    My social media accounts r all some version of Joe Momma.

    I agree.  However, it is worth pointing out since we are all migrating there.

    Yes.  Good point.  The 2 accounts do not need to be related.  And should not be.

    Use something other than your UO info. 

    Then players have no excuse to not use the CUO client.
    Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

    Offers an interesting point that people will likely no longer need an active UO account to join the discord channel... wasn't that their schtick with these forums; everyone posting is an active (account holding) player? 

    So it sounds like people could make a bunch of extra accounts to post and make small topics seem like more talked about topics... but that couldn't happen for UO Discord right? It's not like people are running several (EJ) accounts all at once to advance themselves.... oh wait...

    What he says is true.  Not something I would do.

    Trust me, Kyronix does what he wants to do and has since 2012. If that mass of fake posters has an idea he already had. It will get done when he wants it done.

    The only thing I have seen that does not fit that is the deco eggs.  Parallax came up with that, so it forced his hand, and he will put the vendor up when he wants to.  Not a month ago like we wanted.

    Violet and team will moderate that forum as they do now.
