Greetings,

Happy New Year! 2026 is off to a running start and the UO Team is poised to deliver exciting content updates. This includes new global events, quality of life enhancements, and a continued commitment to game integrity.

On the immediate horizon is Publish 122, which is currently slated for Test Center next week. Publish 122 brings a host of new updates including,

  • Vet Rewards – Upgrade your house deco with the Ship Battle Lagoon and new monster statues, store your fish and lobsters in the Angler’s Stand, stock your refinements in the Refinement Cabinet, or ride into battle on the Ethereal Umbrascale Dragon mount!
  • Post-IDOC House Placement – Winning a housing spot on the heels of a collapse is improved as a new raffle system will determine who the lucky winner of the plot is! We also have refactored the City Trade Minister to showcase all structures in danger of collapsing in a cleaner GUMP-based menu.
  • Quality of Life Updates – Tired of having constantly accept the 1,000 gold fee to do you vendor searching? Now you can set an auto-accept and save precious time while shopping! Have you ever felt the frustration of being a warrior out in the wilderness and been unable to mark a rune? Scribes can now fulfill that need with the Charged Rune, able to be used by mages and warriors alike! Bad luck got you down? Luck Statues will now reset at server up, instead of every 24-hours!
  • Caldur’s Watch – Thirsty for more dragon mayhem? Join Caldur’s watch in Trinsic and find great draconic riches for those brave enough to face the mighty Umbrascale!
  • Kindlehart – An innocent melody performed by the Bardic Collegium unleashes mayhem throughout the realm! The Kindlehart Infused require brave adventurers to restore their compassion. For those full of love will find great reward!
  • The Orc Dungeon’s new Master – Deep within the Orc Dungeon nefarious drilling efforts have given way to a new base for a Champion of the Orcish hoards. Venture deep within the cave with caution, for peril is sure to wait!
  • Ultima Store Items – Introducing the Arcane Timber, a magical runewood that is certain to bring joy to overloaded mages across the realm! Unlock new housing tilesets to build your dream house!

In 2025 we launched the official UO Discord. Since launch, the UO Discord had seen explosive growth and revolutionized the way we connect with our community. As we continue to evaluate our social media presence we have made the tough decision to sunset the UO Forum. We expect this task to be complete by the end of February.

Our current forum software has reached end-of-life status and is no longer supported. New forum software is necessary which would require extended downtime as we address feature implementation and critical security updates.

With the launch of Discord, much of the conversation around Ultima Online has shifted to that medium. With Discord we can provide the same features as the forum as well as real time conversation to connect players and developers alike.

While we continue to invite everyone interested to join the conversation on the Discord, we also want to add a special thank you to our loyal subscribers. A new badge will be available to link your EA account to discord to showcase your support for Ultima Online.

Our commitment to open communication around Ultima Online is at the heart of our values, and we will always strive to evolve with community trends to build and sustain our UO community.

Publish 122 is just the beginning. We have not only an exciting year, but an exciting 2 years ahead of us as we shepherd Ultima Online into an unparalleled milestone 30 years in the making. We can’t wait to share it with you all!

See you in Britannia,
UO Team

This is so wrong in so many ways.  We should NOT have to use a third party app to talk to our DEVs or @Mariah.

Is a new public github repository being setup to track the various (existing, and future) bug and feature request reports?  I don't see discord being suitable for that.

Will this forum be left as-is in a read-only mode (no logins), or do all the posts go "poof"?

So it's customary to begin at the beginning.  Ok I'll note that.  Thanks

I mean, you could begin at the end, but are you really starting something at that point?

That's unfortunate they are going to sunset the UO Forums. IMO there are too many "splinters" on discord to ever actually know if you are in the right place.

Interesting about the raffle thing... again those with the 25+ accounts entering the raffle are gonna make out better than someone with 1-2 accounts.

Another huge win is the luck statues resetting at server up. Love that.

Love the luck statue reset at server up.  No more having to wait an extra day because I used the statue at 10 pm but want to use it at 8 pm the next day.

It sound like general roadmap for 2026 but there is 0 info about NL or it is just prodo roadmap ? Why then there is 0 info about pvp patch that planed for 2026 ? NL canceled ?  - if no where is roadmap for NL then ?

    @Community Manager
  • I'm not thrilled about the forums because I'm not a fan of discord. No biggie though, i will just use another forum. as far as the raffle for Idoc's i will say it'll either be like the Abyss raffle system, or the original Moonglow system, we'll find out when it hits Test I suppose. But in general a raffle system in my opinion is definitely an option. we'll see if anything changes on who gets the plots because the people that this mechanic is targeting have a lot of accounts at their disposal. but maybe this will at least improve chances.

    No way !!

Often, when I need to search for something, I come up with Posts and even entire Threads from the UOForums that contain very useful informations for gameplay.

Especially for new or returning players (but also for veteran players exploring gameplay aspects which they had so far not much gotten into) all of the informations contained in the UO Forums can be extremelly useful.

It needs to be stored someway and maintained as retrievable when searching up for something UO related.

Are we going to loose @Mariah and the other Forums moderators ? *cries*

Kyronix already mentioned that the pvp information will be available in the *next* publish. NL is not canceled, but I would stay tuned for updates regarding it. :)

I blame the loss of the UO Forums to everyone (including myself) that complained about it taking many attempts to log into the forum lol.

On a more serious note; maybe this is where a UO Forum not to be named becomes the main one and will even have the Dev team visit from time to time just to see the non-discord savvy comments.

@Community Manager - I am one of those folks very "bad at Discord" so I rarely use it. I've tried to get on there for some of the give aways and struggled lol. Will you be able to give us un-savvy people some sort of cheat sheet of which servers/channels (whatever they are called) are official UO supported and where we would go to replace forums threads for "Recent Discussions" / "General Discussion" / "New Legacy" / "Test Center"??

I equate Discord and Forums as two entirely different forms of communication. I use Discord for discord things and Forums for Forum things. it'll be like that forever.

That the UO Wiki is staying is good news nonetheless, there is a LOT of good gameplay info, hints, and guides suggestions and what not from the various UO Forums posts and threads,

If it gets lost and will be no longer reachable through searches as it is now it will be, to my opinion, a MAJOR loss for Ultima Online.

UO is a vast game with lots and lots to do and especially new or returning players but also playing players who may have not played much many aspects of the game, often might need to search and look up this and that about various in game content and the UO Forums are a treasure trove of hints, suggestions, explainations and so forth about UO.

Please, do not let all this knowledge from players about UO get lost.

Yes, but there is still a lot of good information about Ultima Online various content in the Forums which one cannot find in the WIKI.

Sometimes it is a Post indicating how to train a given pet, another time it is a particular macro for the Enhanced Client, or perhaps even simply a player warning fellow players of a bug...

Am I getting it right or wrong, from your answers, that the Wiki will stay but the Forums will not just be closed to new posts, they will just go for good, not even remaining as searchable as an archive?

I would hope that a way is found to at least keep the Forums as an archive to be searchable for gameplay informations. Players won't be able to post anew but, at least, it will still be possible to bring up gameplay info from searches.
