The fatigue is real.

I've been preaching about it for years now: these limited time grinds have fatigued many people and have caused them to quit, and I'm seeing it more and more these days. This is the exact reason I've scaled back and have closed accounts personally... I don't have time to farm this limited time gear for multiple accounts, so what's the point.

Now it's worse and we have something like this:

Life ToT/Event ➤ NL ToT/Event ➤ Live ToT/Event

With little (or no?) pause in between. We're entering the holiday season, where people are a bit busier than usual, and not only do we have the holiday content but on top of that we also have a limited time grind until Feb.

People need time to breathe.

This is just the most recent example I have seen (from one of the fan forums) but I can't disagree with their sentiment: this feels like too much for limited content/rewards. Despite this poster's experience was on NL, I had the similar on the town invasions last cycle: I did 2-3 spawns EVERY DAY for the duration and STILL didn't get 1 every boss drop. I didn't even have time or a chance to consider doing the chests. Furthermore, I don't know anyone personally that did get 1 of everything from the boss, and a few people I know started doing it 3-6 times a day (doing multiple shards cities). That's not right.

Have you ever considered a change to permanent content? It was cited early on that these temporary ToTs/events were a stop-gap to allow production of New Legacy. Well, New Legacy is completing it's first year so why are we still doing these temporary ToTs/events? Or, is this grind fatigue cycle permanent @Kyronix ;@Parallax ?

"UO feels like a full time job" Wonder why the bots are out of control?

I've played less than an hour a day each event and gotten everything I wanted for 3 account

That's the first thing I said, Too much at once. And some of them are connected. You use items from this part to do that part. I doubt I'll be doing the Halloween or Artisan stuff this year. Krampus?  Take a number.

It's like showing an alcoholic a bottle of beer each morning, here it is but you shouldn't drink it.

Life on hold until February.   :D

I agree, there needs to be some rest in between Events.

I posted about this in September https://forum.uo.com/discussion/comment/124513/#Comment_124513 but unfortunately, here we go, with yet another grind to do and it becomes worse this time of the year with the Halloween content, Krampus, the Artisans' Festival...

Personally, I do not like at all this "back-to-back" grind intensive Events, too much time demanding for me. Besides, my opinion is that the Events can be felt as something special when they come once in a while, occasionally... when they are run all the time, back-to-back one from another, I feel that they loose, at least for me, that feeling of being something fun to do and become more like something I would have to do if I did not want to miss out the special items offered...

I could possibly agree with "back-to-back" Event if the items offered as rewards were mostly "come back" items and maybe only 1 or 2 new ones so that the time necessary to spend in the Event would be reasonably limited, just for those scarce few new items being offered.

Did you do the Town Time commanders from the start of the Event when killing them granted a good decent number of artifact drops ?

Even tho I am fluent in gibberish I can not decipher a certain posters post.  I think his former life was a priest in a catholic church, he uses terms from the 1500s a lot. Popps wall of text, I didn't read.

As part of our 2026 planning our goal is to find a better balance between updating permanent systems vs limited time events.  Our limited time events will continue to be just as engaging, with an emphasis on a more cohesive storyline for players to follow throughout the course of the year.  In addition to that we are looking at updating several permanent content clusters with our new themes that are coming next year.  Thanks for the thoughtful feedback!

I was about to say:"Calico Jack Theme Pack has pretty much been announce for 2026"
I was also thinking Sims Pets, then I realised; no way they can produce 2 new theme pack in a single year + prodo + NL + CC update (this one, was supposed to land past summer).. right?

Must be related with what they've already produce on NL.. anyone playing NL can help guessing the new themes?
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to automate the game.

It’s comical to me you are so frightened of somehow bod scripters get some sort of advantage.

I dig t-maps. Little mini-challenges. Love doing them. Love it even more when I find upgraded t-maps in the chests I dig up.

I got so many t-maps during the Juka city event from the hidden chests, I'm not even halfway digging them all up, and here we go again.

    I need more Davies' Lockers...
But I say that in a good way...
    Because I love t-maps...

    oh, that's something I hadn't thought of!
I can now confirm, dragon maps can go in a Davies Locker

    I can confirm UO fatigue

I just could not face the last event

    however, this looks interesting

I was hoping there would be maps similar to the thanksgiving turkey events from the past, they were amazing, with pieces of the maps or whole maps and you had to find the nests

looks to be different, but I like the rewards in this so I think I will park my C2 Hercules in my Star Citizen hanger and take a look at this........
