Hello everyone,

I have a question for fellow tamers. How does the Moldering Ursine compare to CU in boss fights? Over at UO-Cah it says that the pets with life leech might run out of mana because the life leech can proc often.

Do you guys find your Ursine running out of mana often? Also, do you think they are more or less tanky than a CU? I am trying see their performance compared to CU before I buy one and level it up.

Thanks in advance!

Any pet with Chivalry runs out of mana quickly. Pets run on Mana Regen.

Tamers can run consume so you can keep any pet a full HP with that.

The pets damage type determines which pet to use for an encounter.

    Cu 50 Energy 50 Cold.
    Bear 30 Physical 35 Energy 35 Cold.

A Bear is a Cu with some Physical damage.
Or a Bear is the offspring of a Cu and a Triton.

Almost every tough Mob has one of its lowest resists in Cold or Energy.  That is why a Cu is popular.  Or at least it should be why.

I use pets from an event in the event.  So, Ill use a Clydesdale once I have one finished.  It will probably not be the best pet to use because it does 100% physical damage.

My Bears did fine at Eclipsed Dawn.  I could die or run from something and the Bear would most likely be alive when I returned.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

Depends on what you're fighting, and what your template is.
Cu Sidhes self heal with bandages, so the healing output is very constistent/static, but can be interrupted by Poison/Bleed/Mortal Strike. There's nothing you can do to increase a Cu's self healing once they reach 120 Healing skill.
Moldering Ursines self heal through Life Leech, which means the higher their damage output, the better their survivability, so they work exceptionally well as Chiv+AI, and even better when paired with a Disco/Tamer that can discord their opponent. If the Moldering Ursine is unable to reliably land hits on the opponent (such as extremely high Wrest/Parry mobs), then it's self healing will also suffer. Life Leech will not work against foes with Null Life/Corrupted Life, but it heals through Poison/Bleed/Mortal Strike and even Berserk.

Consume Damage only absorbs Physical damage, it does nothing against elemental damages. The true power of a Moldering Ursine is when they're under Berserk, which allows them to deal 400+ damage AIs while their Life Leech can still heal them through it (all other forms of Healing are severely suppressed during Berserk).

    Let me just...                                                                                  ...perfect!
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to automate the game.

It’s comical to me you are so frightened of somehow bod scripters get some sort of advantage.
