Little Help...Mouse Running Amok

The last three days or so my mouse no longer functions well when signed into the game, no matter the shard. It lags and skips. Works everywhere anytime outside of game. Never happened before in all these years. Do not dare leave the house in Fel with this quirk. If this keeps up...any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried the 'run mouse on a separate thread' option on the 'interface' tab?

Try the old Right Mouse button - this scenario happens when it is failing, just before it fails completely.
Heavily used in UO for movement, used for nothing else, in any other software, so you would not notice it failing in any other usage.

If what Mariah and Cookie say doesn't work, I would do the following:

    1) Check that by operating system is working correctly (to rule out hardware/software/operating system mouse configuration problems).

    2) Run another game and verify that it is working correctly.

    3) Make a backup of your Ultima Online settings (these are your macros, user settings, etc...), this is the ‘EA Games’ folder (I have it located inside the Documents folder) and delete the original folder.

    4) Uninstall Ultima Online (all clients)

    5) Install Ultima Online, the client you like.

    6) Run the game as it comes by default.

    7) If it works correctly, modify the default EA Games configuration folder with the backup you made.

If you change the configuration folder to the default one and it fails again, it is something you had wrongly configured that affects it, so check the configuration you have in your client or start configuring the default one.

I hope it works out for you.

Very weird, what Cookie says make a lot of sense tho, my 25 bucks amazon mouse does that after ~6months.. but it's the left mouse button.. I cannot drag stuff and need to buy a new one (I went for a viper this time.. mechanical button)

Personally I experienced something similar once on Blade and Soul.. but it would be both the keyboard and the mouse that would stop responding for ~5-15seconds at a time.. it was a patch they roll that would mess with some wireless materials (a very niche problem, that would affect a few people and it was fix the very next patch)
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to play/automate the game.

I have worn that button out on my Deathadder Elite.  Last object took out a button on my gamepad.

I disable the side buttons on any mouse I use.  Fat thumb.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

off topic how it feel? I usually grab the cheap amazon mouse cuz they look cool plus they cheap.. but 6 months later max they need a replacement. (std red or blue one)

First time I "invest" into a mouse; viper v2 pro (look similar to urs; they were 99 cad instead of 239 recently) for the mechanical button, hoping it would last longer.

Always loved the minimalistic button mouse.. but I need at least 2 of them on the thumb side + the wheel.

Thank you, everyone for your help. I suppose I will wait for the next patch. Without using the right mouse button, just trying to mouse the cursor, it lags, skips and jumps. Also, when I try just using the touch pad on my laptop, it is the same. Does not do this in any other game or program. I will try some of the tips above again.

    Thank you all for helping.

It sounds like something else maybe capturing the input of your mouse. I occasionally have this quirk when running UO through a virtualized session on my Mac, and I have to toggle in and out of the VM a few times before everything is right. It's like my Mac is not letting Windows 11 have control of the mouse for some reason, and it was only UO that it was a problem.

I have the same issue with my mouse, a G502 Lightspeed of about 2-3 years... a while back, it started skipping the pointer which is annoying, especially when I need to target something or point an item in UO, I need to move it around until it finally becomes firm and I can point whatever in the game I need to point... oddily, it only does it in Ultima Online, not with anything else... I have not yet found how to stop it from doing it so, I am just getting used to the issue and try to cope with it until I get a new mouse.

Update...it is okay now. Why? Do not know, although I decided to sign in on UOAssist. It was fine on UOAssist. So, I quit UOAssist and signed into UO as I normally do without UOAssist and it was fine. So, I do not know what solved the problem after 3 days running amok. Just glad to having it working normally again.

Thank you all again for taking the time to share. Hopefully this will help someone else out who suffers from the same.
