What has been the biggest grinding you've ever done?

My biggest grinding was Melisande to get two dyes I wanted for two of my characters, approximately 3 months

And the most exhausting was Shimmering Effusion to get the decorative statue.

And you?

25 years to get my fully blessed, and fully repairable no dura loss PvP suit for my main Wraith pvp character probably ranks up there. I've used 10+ Item Bless deeds on this suit, and many Cloth Bless deeds.

Including 1 year to collect an entire EM event suit (the lime green one) from monthly EM events to sell and save 8 plat, to buy the original alchemist bracers. The mage is also using an original Lieutenants sash.

A lot of the above, relied on new seasonal event style reward items, which did not used to exist, so that is why it took me so long, but the objective was there for me since day 1, I have been working towards it, even though much of what I wanted, did not exist. I just had to pray, that over time the items would get introduced, and I asked the Devs, whenever they asked for feedback.

I never bought into the whole concept of antique, and repairing equipment the entire time, in fact, it could take me entire Saturday mornings repairing all my characters gear each week, which I hated. I also hated the concept of building an entire suit, which takes so much time and cost investment, for 1 piece of jewellery to wipe out all that work, when I've built something, I want it to stay built, and allow me to move onto character 2.

    Screenshot in Classic Client.
Getting Jewels was by far the hardest part, to get some that were viable for pvp and fitted my criteria. I still believe something extra could be done here.

The Mage Orb is a favourite of mine, I got tired of how shields looked on mages, so thank you to the Devs for listening on that one. Also the backpack is cool, and gives an alternative to mages using an archers quiver, but I've not got round to that yet. Myself and my sons are running 3 identical mages, this is how cool this mage is. :)

And now ironically, the 3 mages want Blaze hairdye... which I will have to grind...

I liked your story, thanks for sharing.

Regarding the blaze dye, as I am aware of the great sacrifice involved and the months it could take to get 3, if I get a blaze, because Melisande is my favorite peerless, in case I get one, I will contact you to see if through money or objects, we can make an exchange and avoid you so much sacrifice, because 3 is a lot.

    Tinker Legs

my husband, our friend Brenda and Me were doing the demon spawn for several hours a day for 4 and a half months. My husband quit after he got his but I kept going until I got mine.

funny thing is... I was looking for that exact name. I had no clue what the name was actually supposed to be. We were taking all the loot from the boss back to a house. I was unraveling as I go and I saw the brown legs twice. It didn't say tinker legs, so it went into the trash because I couldn't unravel it lol

the last time we did the spawn, I told her that I didn't get it again. Brenda told me that yes i did and she dragged it out the corpse. I'm not sure if I ever told her that I threw 2 of them away.

funny thing is, that years later I went to the spawn on Atlantic and got it on my first try lol

The longest grind to me was always to get optimize pets for my tamer.

    This could take months.  :s
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to play/automate the game.

If skilling pets is a grind, then that would definitely be my answer.  I can't do specific encounters over and over.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

Turned in 80,000 bucklers for mace and shield glasses to save money.  Buy from NPC vendor. Turn in.  Complete grind.  Completely dumb.  Need better things to turn in for more points.  Buckler shield is highest point item.     Library quests need a COMPLETE overhaul.

    uff

Abyssal Lair Entrance, that mini champion I spent about a month to get those legs for my shampire.

how nice that meeting the three and history, sometimes one saturated can not see the loot correctly, and lose what you are looking for.

if you mean to increase its abilities, look for a spawn of fast appearance, put hidding and let it train the creature, in Doom for example is a good place.

uff, that's also a good hard grind and sacrifice

I opted to pay the 12,000,000 donation, I'd rather grind other things and sell them and reach 12m than make thousands of small items.

Fair point, it's the one area I don't play, as I just don't have the time for this.

    Thanks for the offers guys.
I'm on Europa, but travel to Atlantic easily enough, and have characters there.
I also like Melisandre, so I'll give it a go myself to start.
Of course, all the mages have to look the same, so enemies cannot tell us apart when calling on us :)

You're welcome, even so if I get it I'll tell you, in case you get tired and take the nameless and mine.

Courage in the search for dyes :)

(Joke) I do distinguish the wizards, one is more fearful and run away from me, the other cautious casts a spell and runs away and the most daring dares to try to kill me.

    :p

    Haha.
Cally the eldest is the one running away, he is a first class sprinter, and not as experienced on the mage as Aidan and I.
I cast the cautious spell, then run, I am luring you into a trap. :D
And Aidan the youngest, just straight off attacks lol.

    1,000 solo Abyssal Inferno champs!

think I am up to 1300/1400 now, but the plan was 1k. and it took AGES!

only because a guild mate challenged me

I keep the horn so I know exactly how many I have solo'd

and about 400 Primeval Lich spawns

then there was about 100 medusa so my guild leader and I got a slither each

then there was 120 imbuing when it first went live

    120 fishing, but thats fun

if what you say is in the concept of grinding, that is, the only thing you were doing continuously was that champion spawn, I can't define it any other way than....

    DISCOMUNAL

I was doing reagents for the alchemist totems.

@mis I meant; finding a near perfect specimen that worth training.
To train them the guildmates tamer technic was my go to.. not sure if it's still work.
