Questions: Getting back into Bods...

1. How do you sort your BoDs?
2. How do you determine which BoDs to bribe up?
3. Store your BoDs?

    1. How do you sort your BoDs? By skill
    2. How do you determine which BoDs to bribe up? Only bribe bods that rewards are in high demand
    3. Store your BoDs?  Currently I have 80 vendors at my crafting/storage castle full of BODs

I sort mine by which large bod they go in, then use the book's filters to sort by material, quantity and quality. I'm frugal about bribing, I'll only bribe those that can only go one way. So 20 excepts that I want to bribe up in material type, or iron weapon bods that are 15 except or 20 normal.
I don't keep any bods that won't fit in larges unless they are worth enough to get a useable reward on their own, most often that would be bods for PoF, dull copper or shadow runics. etc.

My method is probably dated bc I did majority of my BOD collecting pre "other" BODs like alchemy/cooking/tinker/etc but I sort mine by craft (tinker in 1 book etc) and for Tailor I have books for shoes/cloth/bone/leather/spined/horned/barbed and I do a similar thing for blacksmith (all the ingot colors in separate books)

I keep the small bods in bod books based on the large bod they go with. I use Excel to keep track of the small bods I need.

Here is my collection of bod books sorted by skill and locked down on the floor of one of my houses.

      "I"; more like.. it.  :#

PS: anyone legit would tell you stay away from Bods.. Since SA.. things changed.

Since I already got a mule account with 7 smith/tail.. I was collecting BODS.
I drop them in the books on the table.. when it reaches 500 I organised them manually (the very boring and loooooong part.. without a name filter.. i'm scanning my 500 bods book for example an easy one.. platemail.. pull them out and transfer them on my platemail "vendor" BODS mule.. a small with a large book.)

Most bods arn't that easy to organise when you are scanning a book with 500 BODS in it.. before u had a few "harder"/ longer to scan with your eyes.. like Tailor footwear (different name.. not as easy to scan 500 BODS with "platemail" in the name.. but most of those new BODS.. are design, considering you are cheating to organise them.. like our Excel friend)

PS: as u can see on the table I got 2x smith & 2x tailor.. since i'm legit (no one legit after scanning those bods manually would take the time to organise a legit excel sheet) and the dev did not give us a name by filter.. I'm getting discourage of wasting HOURSSSS to organize them (like scanning a 500 BODS book with your eyes, many time over, platemail, chainmail, ringmail, weapons ,etc, etc)

If you are legit and need to train your profession.. stay away from BODS.. just buy what u need.
(some stuff like high end heartwood runic.. market is completely F by the bots farming the heartwood 24/7.. I got multiple carpenter/bowcraft collecting BODS.. and I still ended up buying those heartwood runics.. the recipe (larger bods) is insane work.. compared to the price the bots user are asking.. without considering the woods.. only the ingredient; gems/pearl resell value is almost higher than what the runic selling for)

So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Leave attended paying accounts alone, these people go thru a lot of trouble to play/automate the game.

I got a bit too excited by the last reply "I".. as for the bribe.. it really depends.

The first question would be.. what shard are you playing on?

In my case.. Legends is mostly dead.. u can mark rune to every single NPC to bribe at a fairly low price (do not forget places like Lost Lands Felucca side_2x city; Papua and Delucia, I believe... or even the mage city; the "ant mountain".. forgot the name a couple NPC to bribe in there too, mostly scribe from memory like 5 of them..)

I bribe almost everything to a certain point.. like the first valuable (to resell) or things I could need.
Once the NPC prices gets too insane.. just stop.. wait ~48-72 hours and do another run.

You stop bribing when you get enough stuff, too many bods or when the NPC fee getting too insane.. even when u get enough stuff.. could worth it to do a weekly bribe run, for a low fee.. instead of bribing only during your next crafting session at a higher price.

PS: bribe the large first (cheaper for the most expensive)
and sometimes it worth saving money.. or not.. like if u get a 10x large/small that give good stuff.. do not bribe it for something better, knowing bribing a good color 10x is cheap.. those 10x large exceptional.. when u can fill them.. huge monetary gain.. if u got good 10x exceptional.. that gives good stuff.. don't waste them for better stuff (like a val hammer) until u got many similar one

Do not bribe good color 10x exceptional cuz it's cheap.. until u can afford it (like losing good money) for something big, like a val hammer.. like stop bribing those small/large when they 10x exceptional giving something decent.. only bribe them later on for something even better if u HAVE to.. like a val hammer.. missing a platemail part.. type of stuff.

As to organise the BoD's.. I try other stuff in the past.. like filling my backpack of BoD's from the full book.. with lock down book for different type of larger bods (taken from my mule vendors)
You read the first BoD's in the backpack to drop it in the correct book lock in front of you.. was taking even longer, than doing it in series.

Can I link to stratics from here?  I wrote a pretty extensive expose on how I track my blacksmith bods and sort them.

    1. I have a bunch of BOD books labeled "leather armor" "helmets" "bladed weapons" "hats" clothing" "shoes" "jewelry" "tinker" etc.
    2. I'll explain that in a moment, but I'll bribe up anything if I need something.
    3. In chests in my house (currently 4 chests, I'll explain below).

Before my last break, which was before TOL and before Imbuiing became what it is today, and before bribing (or at least I don't remember bribing and I'm pretty sure I would have bribed everything up and not wasted lockdowns on BODs), I had thousands of Blacksmith BODs and it was a pain to fill the large colored ones, although there was a healthier trade in BODs back then. I had a massive spreadsheet tracking my BODs. When I left, I gifted all of my BODs to some friends, so when I came back a few months ago, I was starting fresh but had a 120 Blacksmith and now have another GM Blacksmith and am about to add a third, not to mention fletcher, tailor, now a cook, alchemist, and scribe (for those BODs).

Context: I don't want to get into the BOD management game. I don't even like having multiple chests dedicated to BODs, I don't want it taking up too much storage or have to deal with NPCs.  Those people who can manage thousands of BODs, kudos to them, but I'm not going to GM BOD management.  I have enough chars that I can get a decent amount of BODs a day, and I've found a few vendors who sell all the BODs they collect (for 5,000 - 10,000 apiece for smalls, 25,000 for larges, etc.).

Sidenote: The vendors who sell their BODs are probably making decent money.

My philosophy about BODs is that it's just an easy way for me to get Powder of Fortifying, runic tools, or power scrolls, and that's it. I know some will pay a lot for the rewards, and I've sold a few rewards here and there for easy gold, but that's not why I collect them. I've got enough colored ingots to last me for a long time, but occasionally I do grab some of the wood maps. I'm not going to bank points because it's not worth the time/ingots to me. If I run into storage limits with my chests, or I need something, I will crank out a bunch of BODs quickly, turn them in, get the rewards and then not think about it again.

When I need to free up some space, or I need a reward, there's not a BOD I won't bribe to get something decent - I have atlases with tons of NPCs all across Sosaria, so I can find cheap NPCs and never let the bribes get too expensive.

Bribing has changed the way I look at BODs.  I just don't see a need to store thousands of BODs when I can bribe up stuff from what I already have to get about 95% of what I want in rewards, and it's still relatively cheap if you take a few moments to bounce around NPCs.
