Constant loss of connection

I can't stay connected to UO.  Today 4-6-2025 I can't stay in the game long enough to do anything significant (about 30 seconds to 1 minute) I keep getting random connection lost dialog while attempting to play Chesapeake shard.  When I try to reconnect I get a dialog reading 'An error has occurred in the synchronization between the login servers and this world. Please close your client and try again. Any help would be appreciated.

    Are you using official client?

    Yes, the official classic client I've used for years.  No changes recent to anything other than UO started losing connection.

    After returning to the game this evening 5:30pm 4-6-2025.  The connection issues seem to have cleared up on Chesapeake shard. I have made absolutely no changes on my computer. Sorry I wish I had more information to give as to why this happens.

    I'm glad to hear it cleared up for you. I'm unable to determine the cause, but it could be something as simple as a firewall or antivirus issue. Either way, I'm happy to hear that you're no longer having the issue.

    Seems unlikely to be firewall or antivirus.  This issue comes and goes.  There has been no changes other than me logging in day to day.  The issue effects nothing else on my computer except UO.  I have no internet connection issue with my browser or other softwares that may connect to other servers.  The problem is back again this morning 4/8/2025. One thing I have noticed is that UO Latency dialog has stopped showing certain shards. Maybe that is something?

    So as a test I connected to a shard showing latency data on the list and had no issues with losing connection and was able to play the game without issues.

    But if I tried to connect to a shard that showed no latency updates I would connect to shard but then within a minute or less lose connection.  

    Looks like there is a server hop somewhere causing issues with only some of the shards?

    Did a traceroute to chesapeake shard and there seems to be an issue with a server hop.  Not sure how to resolve this?

    I used to have this problem and it got progressively worse. I won't go through all I did in attempts to fix it. Then I found this one solution after I discovered using a vpn would get rid of the problem. Instead of automatically using IP/DNS, I manually input Googles server  -In the DNS servers field, enter the Google Public DNS IP addresses, separated by a comma: For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4 . For IPv6: 2001:4860:4860::8888 and/or 2001:4860:4860::8844.  That eliminated the problem and have not had since then
