Questing Feel

So i just started to play ultima online with some private server experience background. As soon as i train my skills while training i found that bows are expensive. Then i found Luna city and i saw vendors have different prices. So i bought some items from Minoc and went to Luna sold them back made couple millions. Then i started to train my crafter , my strenght was low on my crafter so i started to lumberjack/minning but because i can make money from trading between cities and i can buy the logs/iron from vendors. I am throwing away the irons and lumbers on the floor not getting a packhorse not walking to forge to melt them and walk with the packhorse. 

Then i questioned myself gm made all these questing system why they dont spend little bit of time more to make the game better for starters.

Like having these quests bringing more mats or crafted items to vendor to gain skills and valuable gold to get a house . Vendor prices and the market is weird but i dont have the experience of try to get a house feeling when i started. Maybe increasing house prices and quests gives gold worth smth like 200 quests= a house. or a different currency for a getting house and you can get the currency from questing onlyi Which will also help to know the world more like escorting quests and all they are there but no one doing it.

If we not focusing on new players then how about  existing  house renewal token system.

House renewal token ( can only be achieved by doing crafting,slaying,escorting quests with untradable gathering materials and loot ) 

I dont know much about end game not there yet but right now i am not getting the feeling and missing it all when everything is already programmed and writen feels like little bit of a adjustment will make the game better.

I dont want to go to google everytime to findout smth like statscrools i found that when i am looking for strenght gain on google. I want to find the stat gain scroll with trying to equiping a pickaxe whichi got  from a vendor quest while trying to getting a house.

I want to know more about dungeons where they are how to go there with some escorting or rare mat loot quests. instead of randomly finding stmh everytime on google.


Conclusion:

Adding a new currency for renewing/getting house.
Quest rewards are the new currency.
Escorting and slaying quests to know the cities/dungeons.

    We also need a new system for this to work better for the players. Freezing a house. You freeze the house u cant use the house at all but u dont need to use house renewal token to renew the house. So people can go holidays etc give a break or smth without having the pressure of the doing the quests. 

    For now i can only think with untradable gathering / loot / crafting materials. I will think about something that how people can actually trade those materials between them for trying to renew their houses. 

    But lets focus on how can we actually get use of all these nicely writen system for bettter experience so  new currency for house/boat or storage must be done. So i can actually go to minoc/new haven mine with a packhourse and go back to do my questing while getting my skills and get a house. 

    So i can go to my combat character get the slaying quest  get the untradable loot item give to my crafter then craft the item give the item to quest to get my house renewal token. 

    I dont want to go to google  i want to ask someone while i am doing my quest or jestering around in the city.

    The company can give more entertainment than negative feedback by adding these features.
    Ofcourse u loose ur house if u cancel your subscription house renewal freeze system only works for the token in game. This is the most time consuming feature  but i know you guys can do it.

    Interesting post, with a couple of good points, a couple of points I disagree on are;

    New currency - newer games are having real issues with the amount of currencies they have, it makes them not fun. World of Warcraft currently has 500 odd currencies, Path of Exile 2 has way too many, it's actually a downside for them, and makes them too complicated.

    You have a partial point on quests, yes UO could tidy them up a bit - or make them more structured towards an endgame. However, they did do this in recent years, and there is a set of starter quests at Britain Mint, Escort quests do also exist, slayer quests also exist - but yes there could be more.
    There are a couple of good pages that list and bring all the quests together - maybe that could be done ingame somewhere.
    But end of the day, UO is not a quest driven game, again, it is not designed to be driven by quests, and it would in fact weaken the concept of the game. The point of UO, is it is not quest driven, again, that is too much hand holding.

    UO New Legacy, is quest driven I believe, and that is a strength and a weakness. Strength if you like quest driven storylines, a weakness if it becomes too structured. You may prefer to play New Legacy.

    I would never recommend google, you are likely to get confused by results from custom made free shards having systems that aren't on official shards. Instead use the search box at the top of our own player wiki or ask questions here.

    You are right cookie , i just felt like something was missing and the problem was with me and the opurtinities that the game has gave me. 

    If i didint trade goods between cities i would be gathering iron for my blacksmith crafter. And slaying trying to save money for the house.

    But then i would have to carry all the gold for couple days travel between bank and the dungeons, and go to youtube video see someone is using bag of sending or salvage bag.

    This kind of information like salvage bag and bag of sending i am coming up those from some youtube videos or sometimes i get lucky with my problem explanation to uoguide and find it there.
    Where i believe these kind of items can be introduce to the players with a questing like runebooks etc. And it wouldnt be quest driven still.

    I did play the New Legacy it was good only problem was i dont know why they didint use the existing world and made a new terrain has to do smth with programming which i am far from.

    Still i am not complaining about anything having a good journey. But when i got the house i just put it somewhere quickly and bought a villa without owning a small house first. It was a too quick and it would have been nicer journey if i had a small house with couple boxes inside at the start and from there i train my characters to be strong enough to get the bigger house.

    Atm my villa has boxes and a soulforge only trying to train my characters without knowing anything about the game, i think the game does give that to me i just dont realise it .
