Alternative approach to dealing with cheating

Since there are alotof people who play illegal clients and botting and whatnot, how about free gifts to the ones that dont.

Imagine logging into you UO.com downloaded client and theres a great gift.

Along with the gift thers a card saying, "Thank you for not cheating this month, heres a gift of epical propotions"

upon your next pvp battle you enjoy the +15 stat points for using an official client.
make it happend!

    The ones cheating/botting are essentially already getting 'free gifts', the gifts keep on giving because nothing happens to cheaters here in UO.

    I doubt it would work, because in order for it to work the 'reward' for not cheating, would have to be significant, and that would, no-doubt, cause additional problems.
    Remove or change casting focus & poison immunity it reduces the need for "Player Skill" it's garbage. rant2 Bring timing back and eliminate chance in pvp!

    As long as they are making real life money they will bot add everything to the uo store for less than them and they will vanish

    They already said how they're going to deal with this. If they're their friends the GMs have been told by the lady in charge not to ban her friends GM River did a tell all online. He's was not allowed to ban her friends. They can do anything they want in this game. You are not allowed to do anything they do cuz you will be banned. And they will ban you immediately. It's all about who you know. And go online and search for GM River there's I think it's a reddit post post. And she had to wait two years for his contract and and he posted about a year and a half ago now. The people who have not read it blows my mind I've talked to probably a hundred plus people when they read it they quit the game they're gone. When they found out what was going on they hit the road. I want from 11 accounts to three and I'm going to cut down till like maybe I would like to go down to like just 2. But I've never met a game where the people in charge let their friends do whatever they want.

    It's an interesting idea. It has been done before in a few games, famously in Team Fortress 2: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cheater's_Lament

    It's a good idea but specifically to the threat title "alternate approach to dealing with cheaters" like other's have said, and what happened in TF2 and would happen in UO, the cheaters profited so much more that they really didn't care and didn't sway their ways to not cheat anymore.

    Semantics, but if the title was "reward non 3rd party client abusers" with some cool account-bound new/unique artwork wearables, that'd be cool.
