Tell this person.. Prodo UO ain't a sandbox anymore.. it's a theme gated game under BS management.. those events are THE MAIN content.. when no event everyone is botting on high sea.
In same time; he's on New Heresy theme park Legacy.. he should already know that stuff.
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Since day one the main content in this game has been player-driven interaction. The periodic events have always been the exception, not the rule. These ToT events inject some items into the economy but I think most people farm the items they want and then go back to the things they normally do. Most people aren't spending 12 hours a day grinding drops for months on end and then quitting until the next one happens.

Personally, I like having too much content. And the fact these events are going on for a few months... Definitely helps me to spread it out and have a lot less fomo

I don't mind all the content because it's gives a ton of options, but I do agree with the one person saying spring is going to feel dead.

Like I said, all for the loads of content from late Oct through Jan, BUT we went Jan-Mar 2024 with nothing, then had only the pirate event for like 3 months (became very boring), then had nothing again from Jul-late Oct.I would have much rather had the Manifestation start Aug/Sept then do Halloween/colored Mares Oct/Nov then do Krampus/Artisan Dec/Jan and have the town invasions run throughout that.

That would have given us essentially an entire year (outside of Jan-Mar) of content to play rather than nothing for half the year (to the point I let my subscriptions expire) and then a feeling of hurry up and do everything having the feeling I need to play 5+ hours every day in order to get everything. Oh by the way, this was all on top of New Legacy...so those that wanted to play that or were enjoying that are now faced with a decision of playing their Prod shard for limited time stuff or develop their legacy on the new shard.

Again love all the content but it does give me the feeling of timeline mismanagement. The same could be said about the number of really good rewards from the ToT event; so many good ones that you get the feeling you won't be able to get all you want; that said in a different way could easily be taken as "there are too many good items" which isn't the case at all... it would just have been nice if some of these items were on the reward list in the Spring. :)

What I am hoping is NOT the case, is that after all of this content is over in Feb, that the Dev team doesn't give us anything for another 4-6 months. If that happens again where we have 4 months of nothing then to me that's a horrible release strategy and needs to be switched to a more consistent (less content at one time) approach.

The gaps between world wide events is when the town governors get together on Europa and organise a player event.
