multi-boxing. Why?

Why not ban multi-boxing players?
I am under tremendous stress by them at the city invasion event.
I have a feeling that UO is done for.

Here what happen when you strike back vs red protecting their unattended bots in felucca.. This guy "donated" me 15 of the 24 artifacts i stole from their bots yesterday:

I reported him and once again the GM did nothing.. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he's actually the GM.. he's still using his sampire followed by 2 archers and/or throwers spamming AI in PvE and for PvP during the event... he's the leader of their second PvP train after day 6.

For context it was him being mad, saying i'm suckng D, after I killed and looted 2 of those said bots.. playing by themselves with attack nearest AoE..

PS: he realised 5+ min later what had happen.. I had already switch character and was looking for my next solo bot on the thief.

So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Not complicated. They aren't going to ban accounts that are contributing to the game financially. The "problem" is too ubiquitous and the game's niche is too small to do anything about it.

UO isn't done for -- financially speaking. Every day people on this forum mention how they have X number of accounts and have purchased a hundred items for real money on the store, and the events are designed to take full advantage of bots and legit players alike. Enjoy your luck potions and totems.

If the game is causing you stress, you should take a break. The event goes until February, so you have plenty of time. If you're on ATL, you might consider going to Fel where it's quieter. Just insure your drops.

We'll see about that.. I have the feeling when I start doing the PvP train & frame skipping, since BS pushes us hard toward that, i'm gonna get ban real quick.

Did you page on them?  And tag him? Send his number in?

Anyone can make your static chat pic.

If you do it correctly they will have about 20 min of their chat log saved.  NOOB at getting people banned.
I've got loudmouth s for less.  They investigate when you do it right.

@paiwan please, teach me how to become the perfect victim and make the perfect report so BS still ain't gonna do anything about it.. I mean my PvP bot train post was pretty solid; well detailed with proof and context..

I even had one of them, catch in many lies while trying to twist reality, to admit they were unattended followers use for "paragon protection" on Felucca for a main sampire with the best items possible.

Seriously Paiwan, u should really consider stick with what u know and only comment on PvE Tamer Post. Have a great day!

    here the non cut SS:

I did report to a GM like i said, right after that, yes.
Edit: u legit have all what u asking in the initial screenshot.. tag and #.. Not sure why u even bother man.

Do you read yourself sometimes? Your going to blame me? You've seen my previous PvP bot train post.. and u really saying that? Legit blaming me cuz BS ain't banning bad people.. only people complaining about those?

And this part..you have people posting screenshot of themselves using illegal third party and that admits using heal pocket bot from time to time on this very forum.. Your logic is broken.. stick to taming topic.

Edit: if u want even more context it was yesterday around ~7pm eastern time.. they were talking on general like where, who's that? then dieselkush said the name of my paladin.. I was like LOL.. u finally realised..  thx for the donation! (It had happen roughly 5 min ago, I had time to wait for criminal and switch character)

He was like slluuuurp, sluuuurppeee for a couple minutes.. i was like?? then he said that.

Saddest part.. ~5min after my report to a GM.. I have Lorna (part of their cheating group and magically the ONLY name to have been moderated in the OP; PvP BOT post) asking me.. You have nothing better to do with your life?
Pretty sure this is why they can be racist on top of the rest.. they got the GM in their group.. very sus stuff happening (like censoring ONLY Lorna name in my day 6 part 2 post) and how out of no where (after i page a GM) she's saying that.

Only Lorna name was moderated, it was moderated ~96 hours later, minutes before closing the thread.

She's the sampire i killed 1v4 in that video.. who ever she is.. she knows stuff and got a long arm.. enough to cover racism it seems.

I'll tell you something else, UO has this invented distinction between multi-clienting and multi-boxing. No other game makes this distinction. If you see a little train of four or five characters run by in a decent game, nobody needs to stop and try to interview it to decide whether it's cheating or not. UO just makes this distinction so they can turn a blind eye and collect the money.

I totally fake all those videos.. the racist screenshot is also fake and NOTHING happen in the game, u got me!.. it was ALL on discord.. This is where i play my favorite games  :|

I'm starting to agree with Nythrax about this 2024 community.

This is what paiwan and nythrax had to say after watching this video:

Seriously lil bro.. stick with the PvE tamer stuff.. voicing your position/opinion on any other topic is useless.. now saying that I could have been faking my GAMEPLAY videos or even this racist screenshot.. It was reported to a GM.. and yet u still blame me to have done a "bad" report.. how the **** would u know that.

I don't know if u realised by now my report tend to have WAY to much details!! so get lost with your Q-tip assumption

Some of know how to remove idiots some do not.

Would you be ok with UO actioning your account because a random poster posted pics of you on a forum or discord.

I told you.  If someone does that again page for harassment,  press the player from the list you get.
You say you page on players have you gone far enough to see the lists of players around you?

The chat logs from the previous 10 minutes and next 10 mins are documented.

Learn the mechanics.  If you are good,  you can get a confession.  Idiots like to brag.

IT WAS REPORTED TO A GM IN GAME 3 MINUTES AFTER IT HAPPEN.. I legit copy pasta the # name and message in my report.. telling them; they mad after they found their botted alts dead and strip naked.

earlier i log (~18 hours after my report) i've seen the small orange dot topleft.. empty and yet dieselkush still leading a train on felucca.

How many time do I have to tell you? I even explain why i thought the GM did nothing.. pretty sure she's part of their group.. And I suspect her; Lorna to have enough power to get her name moderated (only hers) and gotten my PvP bot thread close.. cuz their representative was saying stuff he shouldn't (admitting they were unattended followers)

You have to play dumb at this point.. no way on earth u can keep saying such idiotic stuff.. I'll never acknowledge you again.. your a waste of energy and a lost cause.. like your archer is.

well do the math most of them are running 5 accounts on average, thats roughly $168 a month, and roughly $840 a year, thats why they wont ban them.

    Multi Boxing. Why not?

Back in the day, it was the standard to use 1 character only. It was frowned upon to use more than 1 character, it was not considered ethical. I actually hated players who used 2 characters - I was Kroduk back in the day, I was forever judging and giving them a hard time, trying to get them banned.

Then players decided they liked playing more than 1 character, it gave them more variety. The players against this said, "but it undermines the community, it undermines the roles if one person can swing out character 2, and do everything himself, rather than rely on other players."

Then they gave us 6 characters per account.
    Then they gave us 7.

Then some people decided they liked to use 2 accounts because it gave them even more characters and varieties of play! And if they are paying for 2 accounts, they would like to play them, and sometimes it could make an encounter easier if you used 2 characters. The people against this said, "but it gets rid of the team aspect, you are treating this as a solo game!"

Then some people filled up their 2 accounts, and got 3 accounts - maybe they did it to get more Castles, and more storage space. Maybe they did it because friends quit, and they were looking after their accounts. Maybe they did it because they had family playing with them also sometimes.

Then some people got 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 accounts, because technology allows them to play this way, and they enjoy it.

If all those accounts are being paid for, what is the problem? They are not affecting anyone else.

If you have 1 character, you can easily get enough drops, and encounters yourself, if not, you team with others. If you have 3 accounts, you get 3 x more drops, but you need 3 x more, to equip the 3 accounts you have - so overall, it all ends out balanced and fair, per the amount of money players have spent on the game.

    What is the problem?

The world progresses, this is the progression.

Cookie, the people controlling that many accounts at once in these events are clearly automating things in a way that is against the game’s terms of service. Maybe you think that’s fine, but not enforcing rules and the lack of transparency erode trust. It’s not enjoyable for any player to compete for spawn against trains of automated bots or stationary stacks of archers who auto target everything.

the problem isnt multi boxing, its people not actually playing the game but using scripts or programs to do it for them

How about change, update the rules to reflect the modern day?
Allow it, the rules are updated, no-one is breaking the rules, and you have gained transparency.

If it was not a bot train, it could equally be a genuine guild train - the issue is, the number of players. The fact is, people are possessive, jealous, territorial, bot trains are just a straw-man for people to vent on, if it wasn't these, it would be something else.

In Felucca, we are far more open about the negative emotions of humanity, we just let it all hang out there, we openly fight and are territorial. In Trammel, you are all doing it passive aggressive, pretending you are not these things - but all these posts forever show you are identical, you are all just repressing your character traits, and releasing them on forums all day long. You don't do it in General Chat, you do it here. Not aimed at you Loop btw - I was talking in general.

its pretty easy to know if these accounts are attended or not, just wait till after a town invasion and watch all the bots still running around opening doors looking for stuff to kill that just isnt there whilst the legitimate players are handing in their treasures

I completely agree, we can all see it, I am not one of these players by the way, but you see me, you know what I am doing, etc.

    Step back a second.

In another one of my posts - I suggested a lot of the reasons players bot. They are just players, living life, doing their best. They want to enjoy their game time also when they can.

Stepping back - how does it bother you?
    Should it bother you?
    Why are you bothered?
Can you not play your own game, and be happy?

its cheating, its not playing the game that why it bothers me. Whatever way you want to spin it they aren't playing the game..

On your understanding why not just have a load of AI bots running around doing everything so no one actually does anything?

There are multiple reasons having actual players there benefits the game, teamwork, calling for help, no dragging paragons past other players, etc etc.

You are just playing the nicey nicey card to appear good.

I dont even play a sampire/archer or anything, im not bothered about getting drops. I just dont see the point of doing it, its not playing the game. There is no skill in it, no achievement, and it just overloads servers with endless amounts of worthless items, when they should be rare

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. It would be interesting if the team updated their rules and leaned into automation as a legitimate way to play the game, and it might be better if only for transparency.

Your right to be cynical of others because the design of these events is quite cynical: Here are ultra powerful items that are available only briefly. Here is a small space in the world where players compete for spawn. Here is a potion you may buy from the store to give you a shorter stick for your carrot. Here is one server with 99% of the game’s population where everything is on overdrive. Human nature is human nature, but perhaps the design of such experiences could engender better sentiments. Void pool and champ spawns, for example, are more collaborative in nature, though not perfect.

Actioning players for violating the rules as they are now would probably spell the death of the game. To that end, you're not wrong to suggest people just enjoy their time and not get hung up on others. I would say that is especially true of the OP who used the word "stress" to describe their experience!

Multiboxing fine, botting not fine is my opinion, people are social whether you like or not. Remember the days of Britain with hundreds of people around the bank some just chatting?

I never said my opinion counts more, you seem angry that its not the same as yours? :)

This is the slow demise of the game, with endless bots there is no interaction, everyone is out for themselves. This is why the game has gone downhill.

If its whats keeping the game alive then fair enough, why dont they just admit it and end these pointless discussions?

The items are easy to get, i play a tamer 99% of the time and do my own thing so it doesnt bother me, i just think its sad, and its part of why a lot of people dont play the game. There is little to no achievement in getting these OP items. This is what keeps peoples interest. If you just have an I WIN button and everything is given to you on the platter people get bored and leave..

Its probably and still is the best game ever made so why arent people playing it...

I play, i have fun, i just think its sad and part of the problem

If its always going to be part of the game, release an official bot that everyone can use

There was no anger at all in my post.
I'm just commenting, I have a different viewpoint.

Social, and communication is done in different ways also these days.
We do not have to sit in the game to do it.

I used to be in a guild UOAM, and all my chat was there to the guild.
These days I am in a guild discord, and I chat non-stop there.

I see you ingame, non stop talking about what you do.
In some ways it is nice, in some ways it is annoying.
I agree, you are playing the game per your beliefs.
But you do not need to impose them on everyone else.
I see your emotions re bots daily, and I do not care - with respect.
To me, you are a Trammie, doing Trammie things.
When I start arguments, and start trash talking all my Feluccan opponents, equally all the Trammies hate me, and I do understand why, but I'm equally just playing the game, just a different style of game - that my opponents understand more so than maybe you would.

Again, live and let live, I do not go on about bots, I do not go on about Trammies doing Trammie things, or being passive aggressive, unless we are discussing here.

I also enjoy the game a lot, I'm playing it, in a way I enjoy.

Re the game itself - I am always asking for progress. :)

Fair enough, I'm just saying how people are different. :)

If it becomes a discussion on "Do I think I am better, am I arrogant?", this is well documented.

I think Trammel by definition is easy-mode that should never have been introduced, also well documented.

    You say why Bot?
    I say why Trammel? :)

Hvnt log on UO past 48 hours after i had waited on a theme gated event to happen since I came back, months ago..

UO clearly need a new management.. they even have people working on moderation that can't even read and making stuff up.. like proven in this post.
I have no problem being the martyr if it mean good thing for UO long term.

I don't expect anyone that replied around here to understand that.. *thinking i would make an alt forum account after getting banned* u were one of the few I had a bit of esteem for.. how wrong was I;  :D

     :(
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?
