Please remove shard bound from this event!

Right now, on Atlantic I can't farm because I can't take a single step or cast a single spell before I die.

Right now, on Europa I can't farm because it is dead shard and monsters are too few in between the vast cities like yew. To be honest, I only took a 5 minute look earlier today but it was very empty.

Please remove shard bound property from the rewards in this event. Some of the bots will move to less populated shards. This will relieve the stress on Atlantic. In the less populated shards, they will be a welcome addition because they will be increasing the spawn rate.

If there is a fix for the Atlantic lag and the dynamic not so scaling you can add shard bound back. But, for now removing it would be a viable solution. In the mean time, you will be making a bank by selling transfer tokens to people going back and forth between shards.

It is my humble $0.02 but I am fine with removing the shard bound property altogether from all of the items. If the shard bound property is removed altogether, I will just take my char, with all of his items on him, to an adequately populated shard and play there. More money for Broadsword due to tokens.

    +1

I loved that the drops were not shard bound for the pirate event.  Did my farming on ATL, transferred drops to other shards to get rewards there.  Allowed me to have some more viable characters on other shards so I can expand the horizon of groups I play with.

    @ Kyronix ?
let me get this right, you want to screw up other shards that YOU do not play on so YOU can get the rewards you want?

    Selfish much?

How about you sod off and stop crying and start a crusade to get the bots removed,  have you paged on them?

I think I have heard it all now.  Congrats, you are the most selfish player I have experienced in UO.

F*ck everyone else as long as you are alright

    SHOCKING

On a shard like Europa with a smap you can solo the mobs and get 40 odd drops an hour. Dunno what you are doing that you cannot do that?

I assume you just want to set up a BOT of your own and press play and let it do the work?

Or are you doing the event with. crafter?

HOW are you not getting drops? this is the easiest ToT event ever

    Oh, and it's day 2? 3?

I could not even take single step let alone cast a spell yesterday. Also give my best regards to your mother since you accuse people without even listening. She will get the idea.

Zero desire to see people come to my shard like locusts and take off with their spoils. If they want to come and stay, great I welcome that. But atl folks made their choice.

@Psycoder @JackFlashUk @Iniquity What about replacing shard bound for not transferable on ATL? everyone happy?

Such a good post jack.. this dude sound like someone that wanna bot a less crowded shard to come back on ATL& europa with his spoil of bot.

Like how can u be ok with bots but crying cuz u can't get loot on europa and wanna move from this medium shard to a tiny one???

40 per hours tho? I must be doing something wrong.. yesterday in ~9-10 hours 121 artefacts today in ~8 hours 85 (i did much more PvP today than yesterday.. I decided to continue messing with the bots on felluca.. even killed that speed hacking mage from yesterday.. that noob got stuck into mobs and died to holy light)

His red dexer friend was MAD after that.. he was auto following me on felluca for a good ~2 hours.. till the moment I realised he was legit unattended and following me.. I lured his dexer into one of his sampire auto attack bots.. he AoE'd himself.. he took control of his red dexer at the last moment ~20% hp.. and his sampie bots was chassing him, as i did.. but he frame skipping/speed hacking.. no way to catch him/finish him.. (epic funny moment)

After that I was alone in felluca.. he took out all his bot.. he return ~2 hours later with a new auto attack script on all his unattended sampies (no more AoE)

I'm trying to do what Boardsword Studio refuses to do... get rid of the bots..

PS: when i kill a necro on felluca i go on trammel..  once there was a sampire with his  2 thrower multi bot.. when i call him out, that sucker put one of his follower (like that red dexer did) on me.. I had a stupid garg thrower following me attacking everything around me.. this one was lame as... since it was trammel.. 100% griefing...
I didn't even try to get it killed since this guy is usually crying when someone attack him and his 2 bots on a champ spawn (blaming the "cartel").. wich is pathetic.. ok with botting but against PvP on champ spawn!!
So i just paged a GM and as always no answer.

Went back play with my red botting friends on fel.. way more fun.. but still is lame as F.. i could have 250+ artefact if i was not losing my time dealing with bots (annoying them enough so they get their red to come play with me)

At the end of the day around 2am.. their mages & dexer red had 0 kill after ~5 hours (3 of them).. so they gangbang me with grey bolas ball sampires.. they took murder count and went to bed happy ^^

On legends felluca it's like 3 dude using ~12 characters.. at all time only 3 of those ~12 are attended.. usually it's their red messing with me, the rest are bots with good scripts auto farming.. they can take control over them, at any moment.. this is how i kill that red.. he was unattended on the side line (away from mobs) he took control over it.. I was attacking him.. he panic with ~40% hp left and run into mobs got stuck and died to holy light like the scrub he is.

I'm doing the GM/CM work on Legends.. but i shouldn't have to do that and got way more rewards.. if BS would clean their game and do their job everyone could enjoy clean PvP (hopefully their designer would work on production balance) we are way too powerful.. already with mid tier items I can hold my ground.. i can't even imagine what i could do with top tier items + cheat engine!!

Need better hardcap/softcap all around, after dealing with bots // cheat engine.
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

You too shall give my best regards to your gracious glorious beautiful mother... She will get the idea.

In some shards, you could not even take a step. In some other shards, it was empty. The simplest solution is called load balancing.

You don't need 3 page reply to understand that a simple load balancing would solve both birds with a single token. But again, this might be too hard to understand for some. At the end of the day, 50% of human population is more stupid than the average person, and the average person is quite a bit stupid to begin with. Talk to your mom, she will explain.

You don't want a higher population to play with, even though it might be temporary and will die down again after an event? Why?

How do visitors to your shard keep you from getting the items you want for yourself? How would visitors to your shard turning in drops and claiming their prizes and taking those prizes wherever they like interfere with your prizes and you using them however you like?

I've always been a big proponent of allowing players to turn in points to a separate reward giver that allows them claim 'account bound' items at a lower point cost, as they inherently have no market value. This would allow players to transfer items as they please as they're not 'shard bound' but at the same time disallow them to profit or disturb the markets of the smaller shards.

    In my opinion, win/win.

But I highly doubt they'll ever remove shard bound from the actual reward items. Honestly so much I'd give up. At least in the past they've allowed us to transfer the turn in point items a few times.

That sounds like a good idea.

To be honest, I would have no problem with account bound rewards even if they are the same points.

Maybe we can have an NPC or UO store token that can convert shard bound items to account bound items. I really like this idea.

Love the idea on paper.. but i love sandbox even more.. to me it's an heresy to fix another heresy.

Somewhere in the world a statistics teacher died from hearth attack reading this.

You miss the whole argument.. how do u quantify intellect? the best we got is potential with IQ.. this is more than stats.. more than black or white -.-

Look % of pop with avg IQ.

Has nothing to do with people coming to play. The issue is, it invites the tons of bots looking to profit from lower pop shards.

This directly impacts me when I am trying to play by having to compete with accounts with 5 throwers in tow literally killing stuff the second it spawns. It's already on my shard I don't need more of it.

Sorry this is a reality of uo I wish it was not the case.

I play shards that are considered pretty sparsely populated and you still get bots and cheaters regardless of the prizes being shard bound.

To me having items shard bound is just another example of punishing all players instead of addressing the real problems.

The fact that you cant farm on ATL is an ATL problem.   The root cause of that problem is over a literal decade of telling everyone and anyone “ATL is the only shard, only play on ATL, there are no other shards”.
yep ATL is the most populated, its actually well over populated (my opinion).
These are issues you get when your shard is overpopulated.
Pick where you want to play UO, there are advantages and disadvantages to all shards.

To anyone who says removing shard bound wont affect other shards; the manifestation of evil encounter proved otherwise.

Anyways; this is the same old song and dance; the devs have clearly stated in the past they wont be removing shard bound from ToT events.

Bro, your complaining everyone go on ATL.. shard bound exist cuz of ATL.. The shard bound PUSH every new or returning player toward ATL.. if what u say about boardsword is true.. it's more than being out of touch.. it's being unable to see the obvious...

Shard Bound should be: not transferable on ATL.. if another server become HIGH pop.. u do an announcement and add it to the list ~3months later; for the next event.. example Europa.. u can move OUT those heretic items.. but u cannot move more IN.. there u go, your welcome!

In other word; Rome is killing other cities (shard) before they even can get out of the ground cuz it suck all the riches (my problem is how they been sucked-in.. by freaking multi-bots cheaters sponsored by BoardSword Studio)

In my opinion the most obvious fix would be to go in game and temporary ban all those cheaters.. u'd see a neat ameriolation.. cuz even on Legends; a tiny dead shard.. while i was messing with my red and bots friend yesterday.. some part of the city were EMPTY.. I was hearing stuff getting beat by stuff.. getting stuck into invisible stuff; then all of sudden mobs would all happear at once on my screen..
only 3 guys multi-botting (~12 characters) in NuJel'm it would create enough pressure/data on the shard to cause some WTF laggy moment.. like desynch (rubber banding)

I feel like the current situation with Atlantic is due in a good part to the shard shield vet rewards - which should never have been added to the game. They alone created this climate where everyone treats Atlantic as the central market and has caused everyone to congregate on Atlantic and at the same time, use the smaller shards as a resource farm, to then take those resources away from said shard and take it all to Atlantic.

Shard Bound was a reaction to try to put restrictions on this problem but the problem itself remains, coupled with as you said, encouraging everyone coming into the game to just play on ATL instead of giving consideration to the other shards.

I don't know what a fix would be as it's probably too late to take away those shields without causing massive drama. I feel like the problem would be vastly minimized if every time someone wanted to transfer it was $20 a pop.

I suggest a UO Store item with say 10 charges where each charge removes the shard bound property. Upon transfer to another shard, shard bound property is recreated. This item would allow normalization of prices and availability of desirable items across shards. This would generate cash flow for the studio and also distribute economic activity away from Atlantic. When i started a year ago i first looked into Europa shard but after looking into vendor search basically left for Atlantic. I have better ping at Europa but there is no or very little market activity there so it is hard to buy and sell stuff. A UO Store 10 charge shard bound removal item would distribute market access to other shards and revitalize less crowded shards while generating income for the UO.

They should never have done shard bound anything really you always too dead for this to work with shard bound. They really need to remove it to be honest with everyone
