Rare nightmare spawn turned off?

3 days ago I was getting a few rare colored mares using totems. I just used 11 yes 11 totems and haven’t seen anything but a few voids and a few metallics. I want to make sure I’m not wasting totems if if there is a problem with the spawn.

    Every single day I log in people are saying this in chat, "Oh they turned off the spawn I havent gotten a rare color in x hours"

    Jeez people, relax. RNG is doing RNG things. I've seen a handful of purp mares pulled today, more than any other day, and without totems. I thought they buffed it.

    I understand how rng works but when 8+ people say the same thing it doesn’t hurt to check if something is wrong with the spawn. Even you heard of multiple people saying it…If they turned the spawn rate down that’s fine. Ever think that the players are right annd you are wrong….. and something with the spawn is wrong? *waits for the typical negative post*

    How do you know this hue/color dropping logic is "just" based on an RNG?

    I could be based on some sort of quota instead/as well, like only X of a certain hue over a given unit of Y time.  It could have been that way for ages.

    Good question for a "Five on Friday" style Q&A.

    I think one of our guys is stealing all the RNG.
    He has 4 purples so far.
    We are also seeing other colours.
    The only one I have not seen is green.

    It’s 100% pure, fresh squeezed RNG.

    It's definitely not off, I have gotten 2 purples in the last 2 days along with a fair amount of the others but the RNG is strong with this for sure especially if you're going no totems. I've gone 1-4 totem charges sometimes rarely seeing any void or 2764 then next charges gotten color after color (yesterday for example I had 4 red 1194 in a row two different charges). It's like any other spawn where you could have none all day then get rare after rare like with Cu Sidhe. I did feel like it might have changed since the 17th release but then I looked back at my "data" from pretty much everyday of working the spawn and realized it seems to come in waves sometimes.

    This is why some game use better formulae.. if u let stuff totally at random.. it generally suck in my opinion..

    Like consider this.. I got a hat with 300 numbers in that hat.. I pull one number.. it's number 298.. I put it back in the hat.. What are the chance I pull the number 298 again? if u say 1/300 u wrong..

    Cuz of the beauty of math that PROBABILITY; like flip a coin millions of time.. the result should be close enough to 50/50.. in those term u'd have a chance to pull 299 others numbers before pulling the number 298 again.. if u do.. the chance goes EVEN lower.. in french it's call BOLÉOLE formula.
    So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

    @username think about that in another way.. u have flip a coin 12 times 9 tails and 3 heads.. What are the probability of you getting a tails on the next flip? not the CHANCES.. but the more accurate probability?.. if u say TAILs has 50% chances.. it's like saying that probability ain't 1/2..  ;)
    So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

    It's 50/50. Each coin flip is completely separate odds. I guess, technically, it could land on it's side. In that case, it wouldn't be 50/50.

    See this is what I call bad RNG.. someone can hit the lotto a few time in 2 hours farm and someone else can leave empty handed after 8 hours...

    Don't get me wrong I love myself a good dice wars from time to time.. but when u bring stats like 0.02% chance.. do better than pure RNG on each new rolls ;)

    Wish they had added more spawn locations. The one in Hythloth is horrid, they spawn way too far apart. The Tram Cove spot is camped 24/7 by one person, at least on my shard and you can't even TRY to get one. Got 1 red one in Fel Cove and died to a red after about an hour. Got 2 reds in Ki-Rin Pass but the spawn rate is SO SLOW lol. And dealing with the paragons is not so much fun.

    The spot by the temple island portal is usually taken by one person so...yeah :/

    Purple is my absolute favorite color, I was so excited to get one....now I know I don't stand a chance unless someone is willing to sell me one for a million plats :/

    I have gone through 7 totems so far and I haven't seen any color but red and all the old ones.

    Its the same on my home shard.  The best spot is covetous tram, the others are too spread out or seem to have a slower respawn rate.  
    The cove spot, and t2a were camped out all weekend.

    It seems busy on my main shard of Formosa. T2 and Covetous are busy, though if you hit them at the right time and go at them long enough rares will come. I have yet to use that gold sink totem that supposedly increases the chance of a rare to spawn.
