      nah, if you don't bot you're penalized because so many others are botting without being punished, and you end up with much less items for similar time investment (not really, the 'botters' are doing something more enjoyable while farming)... that's IF you're not bored out of your mind farming for the items you intend to use yourself by then.

     Generally, I farm for 1-2 items, maybe between 1-4 hours doing an event, then just buy everything else because boredom sets in quick doing these "ToT events",  the last fun one was in Fire dungeon (fel of course) and since then the rewards have gotten better, but the grind is worse because it's the same thing on rinse/repeat.

    the egg event wasn't horrible, but it was also scripted/mulfiboxed very heavily, nothing is going to stop that unless those in charge are willing to do something about it..   the "war on third-party programs' so far is nothing but words, we'll see if/when any action happens.

    Remove or change casting focus & poison immunity it reduces the need for "Player Skill" it's garbage. rant2 Bring timing back and eliminate chance in pvp!

  • I, for one, wouldn't mind a similar event if executed well. This should include fiction to lend it purpose and meaning beyond what is literally included in the event. (Why, again, were pirates invading the Void Pool? If there was fiction for that I missed it totally.) There are several existing mechanics that could be combined together to add more. Previous events have done just that.

    Sadly, the safest bet is that we won't get one at all. Production shards no longer are the priority.

    I actually agree the egg event (the 2nd one anyways lol, not the one with eggs on ground and duped egg-quest turn in bug) was probably the best they've ever ran.

    Why?

    Luck capped returns. I was able to load up my 2 guys with max luck suits and click a statue and for the next hour I had almost 100% drop rate. Even with a max luck suit but NO statue it was very iffy on drops, I feel like it was 25%. I didn't feel like playing for that 25% drop rate so it felt less of a grind when I only wanted to do it for maximum of an hour a day. And that high drop rate with the luck statue made me able to get everything I wanted without buying anything with fairly minimal effort for only an hour max a day played.

    . Even cracked out bots running around at lightspeed instant attacking/killing things didn't get any sort of advantage: they still had to wait the time to plant another thorn.

    Both of those combined gave legitimate players a HUGE boost over bots that ran 24/7 because for once, our time spent to reward ratio was higher than theirs. Sure they could run 24/7 but would average out to be at that lower drop rate because of the luck situation. 

    So maybe that's the key to encourage legitimate gameplay, while discouraging illegitimate, and at the same time less of a grind for those said players? Some sort of diminishing return mechanic? @Kyronix

    And before people disagree with a diminishing return system, well, once again it was in place for that event quite clearly.

    I wouldn't mind skipping one fall ToT event, especially for NL release, but I do think they've confirmed it is happening. Maybe something "lighter" in lieu of the NL release. We'll see.
