Hi Guys and Dolls, after 20 yrs or so I am finally closing all my accounts.   I am transferring the Shop in SW Luna (The Emporium) to Tynk so hopefully the Rune Library that a lot of you use will remain.  If not, sorry, I tried to give it home lol! 

I have so much stuff that I cannot pack it all so each day or so over the next month I will be loading up the boxes along the path edge of the shop with stuff I am giving away.  You may need to step into the shop to get the boxes to load so you can see them from the path. I will do a rune dump most evenings so that those on shard can remember to go check out the boxes.

I prefer to give my stuff to those who play on the shard rather than let it go IDOC (which would be bloody easier!) than let the xsharders and bots swoop in given how much stuff and the value it would amount to, not to mention that all the vet rewards and stuff in elven boxes just disappears.  

I am packing just on the slim chance (and it is very, very, very slim) that I return.   I have not played much over the past three years and not at all for the last 2 accept to log in if I remember to get gifts. 

Judging by the state of this forum, I do not know if anyone will even read this thread.  It seems to have gone from a jumping active forum to a place where only ghosts survive.   But hey, maybe someone will read.

I lost total faith in UO once New Legacy was announced, even though it is STILL not here after it was coming 'soon' at least 6 yrs ago.  I do not 'go backwards' which is what I see this as, and all the Dev resources are going into a shard that those of us on Oceania will hardly be able to play on due to lag.  From the early concept of this shard I felt it was a retrograde step, but I guess for those of  you who want to revisit the past then all good.  It is not for me.  I was also getting super jaded with the rinse repeat of all event arcs ie Krampus who must be near in his dottage by now he has been rolled out year after year after year for what 10 yrs or more?  Same as the Xmas tree stuff, the trick or treat and as for the dungeon farming 'of the fey', 'of the dead' of the 'insert name here' it was just getting so old mass killing reskinned mobs just to get the new trinket.  I guess with all the energy going into New Legacy you cannot expect much more.    It is not what UO used to be 10-20yrs ago.

Ahh well it has been fun.   I guess I must also remember my time with guilds over the past. 

BCS (Black Clan Society) way back in 2001/2
CMD (Chevalier D'Maison D'Arc) 2003 - 2007 ish.  Tarkus Darkly and Cymoril which also ran the sub Guild F-Em (Fox  Emporium Events) which ran a monthly auction and weekly Casino among other player run events. Constable Fox, Brenna Fox and Eleanora Fox!
AO (Allegiance of One) 2008 onwards.  My personal guild (current) consisting of only my chars, 21+ of them.   In Alliance for the past few years with Tynk and Fink.

To all those players it has been a blast.  To all those who remember and came to our events thanks for the fun, and for all those still playing hope you have a great game.  

Hopefully I will not be totally forgotten, although as with all 'ex players' you are only a legend in your own mind!   But I do leave behind the decoration at Oceania's Brit Bank (which I would of loved to redo I might add!) also my Castle called 'The Spires' on your House Placement Tool  (there are 3 decorated versions in that thread for inspiration, just scroll down it!).  I also did a LOT of work on the EC client back when it was introduced with developing the first comprehensive user guide available still seen on 'old stratics'  It may be dated now but a lot of the info is still 'current' although some Needs updating now but hey it was there!


Anyways, time to go.

    Very sad to see you go. I hope your new path leads you to many good times and new friends.
    I don't play Oceania but I've seen you around for years. I to have no interests to play NL and wish they would have just fixed the base game added a new client and a new expansion with weather lol. I wish you well stop by let us know how your doing.

    I'm also down to just one single paid account which I've been toying with the idea of closing as well because it really does seem like we've received bare minimum over the last few years while the team has "been hard at work building NL". I think you nailed it; a majority of what we have received is reskinned (or even the same exact) content for some slightly different trinket.

    If you do want to keep playing UO, it might be worthwhile to check out a free shard where the people running them seem like they make more frequent/meaningful updates. Either way, I wish you the best in your travels and hope you find what you are looking for!

    Yeah @keven2002 I logged in to pack up and found that even the 'clean up' points give me nothing new since I left 3 ys ago.   I have 10,000,000 points on my main account to spend and bugger all to spend them on.  As I clean up I am working on the next account to 'dump' stuff and am already at over a mil on that character.  They can't even be bothered to add to what you can get there, surely with their reskinned tinkets from previous 'of the insert name here' (say after 3 yrs) events they could add the better rewards of them to the clean up rewards without much effort.

    Ahh well my plan to just give my stuff away to people on the shard has come a cropper.  It seems that even when you try to do something nice there are always those who want to be greedy and wreck it for everyone.  One minute I put  out around 25 gift tokens across 10 boxes and one person just comes and takes the lot. Then you have the other person who decides to 'hide' a character on the porch to scoop up anything immediately, then you have the other person who takes every single item overnight so all boxes are empty in the morning.  Now the majority of those items had no value as clean up points,  and I don't see that anyone would have a 'need' for old newsletters of the same type, or a heap of other stuff worth nothing but curiosity value or things that newbies would never of seen etc suitable only as 'deco', so I can only assume they toss everything so they don't need to go through it again and see when I refresh the boxes.  The last two mornings every box has ended up at 0 content, even though the previous mornings there were quite a few items remaining over the ten boxes..  Either way instead of the 'good' stuff that was still to come now I will either stick up a vendor and sell it or just bin it.   Binning it seems to be the most likely solution.

    Well I reorganised, and now stuff of any 'value' is on vendors at at least 50% off the Atlantic Price.  Mostly tokens, but power scroll and alacrity books, artisan rewards, bonfires and lamp posts and stuff like that.  I still have 4 free stuff boxes (red ones at the end)  which I have half filled again but not with anything with any clean up points to speak of.  See how that goes.  I only have accounts open until 30 June so at that point it will be binned, or left to the new shop owner if they want it.  

    Not really sure why I am bothering but I guess after 20 odd years it seems a shame to just chuck stuff or let it go idoc.   Anyways one more castle to empty and then pack all my chars up.   Hopefully that will all be done by mid June.

    Well it is done.  Have closed all accounts and transferred the shop and castle to their new owner.   I am off to 7 Days to Die (7dtd) to kill me some of that zombie horde!  I will maybe check back here every so often.  Have fun all.

    So sad you won't be coming back anytime soon, to just say thanks for all you have shown me and helped me with would trivialize what it meant to me and how much enjoyment I got from the game afterwards. Every spawn, Shadowguard, Osiredon, Corgul, Krampus, and countless other activities, prompts a silent nod of gratitude to you, (well up until i see the loot anyway, then its a silent curse..) .not forgetting the template help and EC. Will miss your events and humour. Hope to catchup irl soon !!
