I don't have my spellbook strap open, but most of them goes back into the spellbook strap except demon, elemental and undead spellbook (they go back into main backpack).
========== (I decided to test this out today)
I just tested this. all books return to the spellbook strap when its open. but when its not open, these 3 return to your main backpack.
I hid it behind my paperdoll, but upon log in, it remains in front of paperdoll. I don't want to have to view it, to be able to use the spellbooks. could it be fixed so that we don't have to have it open to use the demon, elemental and undead slayer spellbooks?
just standing at your house and using the the demon slayer icon (edited to switch to my demon slayer spellbook) and then switching to the other two slayers... when I log into CC, those books are immediately in my backpack.
but if I have it open (just as Chrill suggested above) then they automatically go back into the strap.
I don't have to die for this to be duplicated. but when I die, I have to open the spellbook strap, runebook strap and first aid belt
I can't recall anywhere until those are opened. even if the books are in slots, they are greyed out. I would prefer it if we didn't have to have them open for them to work properly
(“Cinderella, if you’re using CC, you don’t need the bandage belt to be open if you record a macro to use the bandages in the belt using UOassist, just make sure the macro is not set to use item type but keep it as use item, and ensure you restock the belt before it gets to 0 then you’ll never have to re-record”)

I don't use UOassist but that is a good tip for those that do use it.
My spellbook strap was working fine and was returning to the strap regardless of whether it's open or closed.
Then I decide to perform a test and now some of my 50 SDI, spellweaving spellbook, orc slayer (invasion) and one scrapper slayers is not returning to the strap.
I keep my strap open as that was suggest as an issue it happens a lot if you die and seems to dislike my 50sdi and both demon (invasion) and undead slayer (khaldun ritualist book)
Acknowledgment and accountability go a long way...

ESRB warning: Some Blood. LOTS of Alcohol. Some Violence. LOTS of Bugs
1) 50 sdi spellbooks
2) Scrapper - gargoyle slayer
3) Orc slayer - invasion
4) Spellweaving spellbooks
I tested the above but there could be more. I am not sure what caused the problem.

The spellbook straps are bugged.
I think the next M&G will need to talk about them, the best way to get attention from a panel of vip.
