Fishing in Prism of Light

I was trying to figure out how to fish in the Prism of Light today, and I am not getting it at all.  Fishing in the Ice River, not that I was actually able to try, was a serious non-starter.  Once I got to the healer's beach, I could not find any way to the lake.

Any hints?
