Brit ship addon pads ?

I scuttled a ship a few days ago on Siege and there was a small forge added to the rear. Although I was able to freely repair/clean and remove the cannons, it would not let me axe and remove the small forge, I got the same result when trying to remove a Captains Wheel too on a different ship. It said I wasn't the one who placed it. Well, I didn't place the cannons either, which are worth more to produce, and in theory weigh more. This seems a tad unfair and I'm curious if this is by design or if it's an unreported bug, until now.
