enhanced client opens with blinking, but not activated, text cursor in Password field

On my Windows 10 machine, the enhanced client opens apparently ready to accept input into the Password field. (The Account Name field has automatically been filled in with the last account name used.) However, if one starts typing, the system beeps at you, indicating the field with the blinking cursor is not actually active.
Hmm, I just shutdown the game and restarted. This time I could type my password without clicking into the field. The problem appears to be intermittent.
