Attacking Matriarch but Not getting a Drop

Two times in a row, the death of the matriarch has failed to reward me a drop. I'm using one of my weaker characters. He is a basic GM mage but I am working on archery. I do have a reptile slaying talisman for my bow but my spells are just ordinary.

I know I have arrived late to the fight with other characters and did like one attack before the matriarch died and it still rewarded me then.

However, this GM mage has done two battles and I know I have hit with several energy bolts and arrows. I don't do tons of damage plus I am getting attacked and fighting the mobs and healing people and now twice I have not received a drop.

I'm wondering if I need to put in a ticket or if this is normal. Does any one know exactly what constitutes getting the a reward satchel?

What shard? Is the account you speak of EJ?

If you are doing a lower pop shard; you might need to "do more" vs if you are on ATL where a few hits/heals gets you credit. Also, I think I saw someone else mention EJ's cannot get a reward so if the account is EJ that might be the reason.

I have done a low pop server where I hit the matriarch once and still get a drop.

Maybe pull some health bars and heal through the fight.

This.  Healing always gets me drops. O matter the shard.
  • Atlantic and it is a paid account.

I did the matriarch again and got a drop so it is working. Just twice in a row I got stiffed.

I'm focusing more on the heals and the pets doing most of the damage. Not sure if healing the pets that are doing most of the fighting helps.

In my experience healing oneself does not make a difference.

Yes since gargs don't do well there, they converted to heal bots.  I have no clue if just healing gets a drop.  But its convenient for the archers and melee that are near.  The ones by me heal my pets.

There is a small chance that you wont get a drop if you get minimum points.  I can put a pet on in the last stage if I am close enough to allow the pet to get a bite,Ill get a drop.  I probably take damage and die doing that so dying also gets you points toward the bag.

Healing Pets will get you a drop, but only other's pets. You do not get credit for healing yourself or your pet in my experience. I will pull bars of pets and find the one being hit the most and keep healing it with a spell or two in between. I haven't missed a drop yet.

Yes, that's by design also ressing and healing them after doesn't count.  A way to make you heal others and play together.  Damage taken helps new players get points.  I think it is a good design. Atlantic is laggy, the Matriarch is only red for a few seconds.  The first few times a player does it, they don't know how to maneuver, My toons can barely move on Atl. I don't see how archers can stay alive because of the lag.

A player can walk in take damage, get killed and get a drop.  That player has the same chance at getting the mature egg as every other player.

This is based on the NL drop system.  It gives all players the same chance to get the drop. A certain old guy has asked for that for years. The more you do the more chances you get.  It is not based on the old top damager system.  Its not based on I played 5 mins last week I should get a drop today.

Yep, That NL System is nice, and they tweaked it out over the season. I could run in last minute, heal a battered player/pet and get a drop. and it seemed like a weekly cycle as well, If I got a drop it'd be bit until i'd get something besides an EQ Scroll (lol) Overall that system works great.

That was clearly a question for the OP that isn't receiving drops................

    Im on CC.

I hadn't missed a drop until today and I know I dealt damage.

Ill let you know as I find out more. I may take a couple of bouts and just test only healing and only dying.

    Thanks guys.

I do like this system. I first found out about it during the Demon Meatballs. I could get a few hits in and get a drop. Then, the Mistas seige and I could hit the commanders pretty much 1 time and be set to get a few arties. Though, I vaguely remember this happening with them rarely. A few times I think I'd hit them a ton and then no drop.

Just logged in with it in ilsh on LS.  Ran one guy it was 50% so figures I could run another.  He arrived at last stage.  Luckily pet got right on him.  Both got  a bag.

Once you get a routine.  You will get a bag every time.
