Paladin build

Hi, I'm trying to fix up my old paladin to get it usable in todays game. atm I'm looking at

120  Sword
120  Tactics
120  Bushido
120  Parry
90   Chivalry   +15 glovers +15 ring
100  Resist Spells  +15 ring (if I can get a 120 scroll)
50  Anatomy  +10 ring

As I understand it resist is really important to reduce the effects of curse and other spells that debuff stats , and anatomy also important to buff damage output and therefore healing done through life leach.
I don't want to use Necro as this character is a paladin.
Anyone have a better idea? I know there was a build called a Dragoon but that one seemed to use either resist or anatomy and I would like to use both if possible

Gonna need healing to fight tough mobs.  The event leg armor was a great item for us.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

Don't you take a crazy amount of damage without parry?

If you are going traditional paladin build; you don't need Bushido... in fact your parry chance is actually decreased when combined with Bushido (compared to regular parry w/o Bush).

You could swap in Healing for Bushido and have a pretty decent build, but would need more anatomy to cure (and stronger heals).

It will depend on what you fight (high magery mobs or no magery mobs), but you could probably run a little lower parry (maybe 90ish) and bump up anatomy. If you use the +15 healing legs that allows you to go 105 healing (120 total) and place that 15 in anatomy as well. Another choice here would be to swap out swords for macing. Again this is just my opinion but a paladin isn't relying on only leeches for their healing so they don't need to go swords (onslaught); they can actually go macing for stagger (eventually bringing the mob to 0 stamina) which means the melee hits coming in will be much fewer (ie don't need as much parry) and you also can use toughness for extra HP. That said, if you are sighting something like ancient liches (high casting mobs) then stagger isn't going to be as effective.

At the end of the day it's a different playstyle. You won't be running into a swarm of mobs, Leroy Jenkins style, but instead kind of grinding your way around so the skills might be a little different than what a Sampire has.

Good points, I've had this warrior since about 2000 and he took Chivalry when it came out and I've always had an interest in the crusades and templers. I realise the sampire is meta but, I don't want necro on him. There is also the thing that I have parry at 120 and don't want to drop it . I do already have 100 healing on a stone.
    I'm thinking of this

    120 Sword
    120 Parry
    105 Tactics   +15 ring
    85  Anatomy  +15 ring
    100 Bushido  or Healing
    90 Chivalry  +15 gloves +15 ring
    100 Resist Spells

and try both and see which I like best. For the non Bushido, pure paladin build what is the best sword to use with a shield? Im thinking broad sword and radiant simitar

The "best" weapon depends on your stamina and the special moves you want to execute. Sounds like you want Armor Ignore on one weapon and you'll swap for Whirlwind?

I am confused as to why you are limiting yourself to single hand weapon and shield with a Bushido template. If you are using Bushido a Double Axe should be more effective for Champ Spawn type battles just like with Sampires. As far as the Radiant Scimitar, it has much faster swing speed than the Double Axe, doesn't do as much damage and may have leeching powers capped by lower swing speed. Might work for some, but a Double Axe will typically out perform a Radiant Scimitar unless your character has very low Stamina.

Regarding choosing between Healing or Bushido as the 5th slot in your template... I rotate Bushido, Healing and Necromacy using Soulstones depending on what I'm fighting:
    - Healing: very tanky with weapon shield combo, but can takes longer to kill big things
    - Bushido: good if you have life leech on your weapon it works, don't rely on Close Wounds
    - Necromacy: only used for Vampric Embrace you said you are skipping Necro anyway
