Ultima Online needs an Makeover...

According to the last 3 Events me and other players noticed that its hard to hold the nice new items and not to trash them. Because our storage is at the limit and our stables to.

Here are some Ideas:

House Storage:

The storage of the Houses should be doubled

Bankitems:

The Charakter Bank limit should be 2000 items
There should be an Account Bank with 5000 Items

Stables:

there we need a new design when we are going to claim a pet
Name of the stabled Pet   race    Pet Slots

According to the plans of new pets there should be no limitation of stable slots

Housing:

As on Testcenter we should get a 31 x 31  an 24 x 24 plain spot

Except the Stable Claim  Design, all other Extras should be sold for a  token at the UO Store

I know this will be a lot of work and its not so easy to get it done but it would be great and the community will appreciate it

Yes, storage IS an issue and a very BIG one...

Every new Event adds tons and tons of new items to collect, store, organize yet, we have pretty much the same storage means of a about 15 years ago saved a few additions which helped a little but have been, to my opinion, not sufficient to meet the increasing storage needs with hundreds, thousands of new items added over the years....

The last House and Bank Storage Upgrade was in 2010 with High Seas which gave +20% then, no House and Bank Storage Upgrade was released since then.

I think that it is about time that we get an additional House and Bank Storage Upgrade after 15 years, to help UO players try to deal with way more storage needs that have increased so much over these years.

Just look at the eggs for the current Event, how many they are, the doubles and triples to keep if one wants to trade them with other players...

And to those who say "discard", "delete" "trash" other, older UO items to make room for "newer" items well, do we really want to alienate UO players from wanting to play the game ?

    How so ?

Because collecting items, in a heavily itemized game such as Ultima Online is, takes time, players' time.

Now, what would players think, if the eggs that we are collecting today, will need to be tossed away tomorrow to make room for newer items that will be released ?

They would think, "why bother" then today to collect these eggs and spend time if tomorrow, inevitably, they will need to be tossed away to make room for newer items ?

The lack of storage to accomodate for items which players spend their time to find and collect, risks, to my opinion, to bring up a "why bother" mentality whereas players, more and more, could loose interest in playing UO and getting items in the game since, inevitably at some point, those items which took time, a lot of their time to collect, will need to be tossed away to make room for other, newer items.

Who like to waste time all for nothing ?

If the items that are being collected today will have to be trashed tomorrow because of storage issues, well, then why bother collecting them today in the first place ?

At least, that is how I see it.

You don't have to collect eggs or rubble or bones if you do not want to. Quit being selfish and drop items you don't need on the ground and let someone who wants to collect them do so.

Are you collecting every bone piece of every color also?  How many things did you build from rubble?

I just dropped a bag of 50 eggs by the Atl vendor, go get those.

IMO we should have unlimited lockdowns and limited storage.  If you don't want to show your deco, give it to someone who will.

Yup, the limited storage is like a form of punishment for older players, forcing them to throw away items is absurd. Collecting items is a huge part of the game, storage should increase by a % for each year we have been subbed.

@Grimbeard ; I put in a suggestion for egg turn in.  Dragons nest theme or Pirate theme.  Go tell em what you want.  We need more stuffs!!

If we can turn in eggs, don't be surprised the ones that will be worth more or any points will be the Flawless.
Kyronix the stingy is still in charge.

I can see both sides here, but as a 25+ year player (of actual game play...28 years total) I have collected a lot of stuff and keep it because of the memories like my OG potted plant from 97/98 xmas. It also doesn't help when the Devs give us a collectable item (whatever it is) and then make it in 10+ colors/variations. Collectors are going to want the entire set and things get out of hang quickly.

I don't think we need an increase to storage, but I do think we need better storage management. What do I mean by that? More things that only count as one lockdown (like jewelry box/PS books/etc).

Here are a few things that add up for the most people:
    • BODs - Each BOD book should be 1 lockdown. As a person with every single crafting skill this becomes an issue. I've mentioned this in other threads so won't belabor the math here but for one single profession it's easy to collect hundreds of BODs as you try to put together LBODs. That's one profession. Now multiply by 7 different BOD professions.
    • Spellbooks - We need a "Spellbook Book Case" that holds 125 items and counts as 1 lockdown. Mages need slayer books for every different MOB... there are super slayers (8 I think?) plus all the minor slayers like Dragon/etc. That's 50-100 books for 1 mage.
    • Weapons/Armor - We need a rack/chest to store all of these as we build more and more characters (especially to equip NL toons!). Most suits are like a puzzle to combine sets of stats to maximize as you can... having the stock to do that takes space.
    • Resources - "resource locker" would be nice to hold the 8 mage reagents plus necro plus mystic plus imbuing mats plus gems plus ingots plus wood plus plus plus....
Maybe there are other things that could be grouped together, but I think these are the things that add up in a major way that are all geared towards playing the game and building new chars. Taking care of these will open up storage without actually increasing the storage numbers.
