question about raising skills in Smith

I created a smith and followed the story line... I'm now at 60 smith and 60 mining.. I'm filling bulk order deeds from the guilmaster and the town job board (also make armor for myself) but my skill level is not changing.. any help will be appreciated.

Have you spoken to the skill trainer who stands by the job board?

On completion of a jobs board task you will be awarded skill points which you can distribute over your current skill set by consulting the skill trainer found beside the job boards.
