Competition : Reward Hall Design
in Siege
Ladies, gentlemen, goblins, orcs and other creatures.
Several of you have complained recently about the design of the reward hall - and I have to agree with you. It is not easy to find a specific item in the hall. 90% of the items have no information associated with them. There are NPCs all over the place, and a large dragon doing who-knows-what in the gardens.
So, I propose a contest to re-design the reward hall.
Entrants are asked to create their design either on a spare plot (if you have one) on Siege, TC1, or any other shard that works for you. Pictures of each floor are then to be submitted in this thread.
Here are the features that we- as in Siege - need.
The reward hall is effectively a museum of Siege events - mainly EM events.
- The design must fit the current building size - maximum of 18x18. Yes, I DO wish I had a castle-sized plot.
- The design must be easy to navigate.
- It must be easy to add new items to the display.
- It must be easy to find existing items. Keep in mind that there are a LOT of items, covering many years.
- It must be easy to find out about existing items. To clarify, you do not need to document each item. You are also not being asked to place the items - there are many that "normal" players simply cannot pick up. I will be placing them - I need a display system designed. Ideally, a way of displaying an item, a book describing the item, and a way of grouping related items/sets together.
- A small, private area for keeping extra display materials (chests/shelves/whatever) should be available, able to hold a maximum of 10 containers.
The submissions will be voted on here. When we have a winner, I will move all items to temporary storage, and give the winner the option of putting their design into place. If they would prefer, I will re-create it based on their pictures. When complete, I will start the task of putting the items in place.
The prize will be a trophy displayed at the reward hall with the winner's name on it.
A second trophy with "Architect of the year 2025" will be displayed on a stand outside the winner's house, in a similar manner to the Britannian historic homes signs.
Let me know if you have any questions! Happy designing!
The contest will close for entries on Valentine's Day, and voting for the winner will begin on the next day. (15th Feb). The voting window will close on the 21st Feb.
