Animal Taming - Exclusive Content

From the outside looking in, it looks like Animal Taming is once again the thing everyone needs to have on at least one of their two characters.

Animal tamers seem to have the easiest times in champ spawns again.

Animal tamers have special bestiaries, that while annoying, do kind of act like an extra long content loop for them to participate in and show off.  Similar to Raid tier armor in other MMOs.  A tamer can now show off they have a taming book unlocked by having the pet out.

This is not something all the other paths have.

And all of that is for a path in the game not available in the base narratives.

Where's the warrior stuff?  We got more of the same.  Tough and extremely slow champ spawns.

I knew I should have just done tamer.  Why does this game always devolve into make a tamer or sampire or archer?

Am I missing something?

I won't fully disagree with you, but i will say that other templates are viable. I have a character on the divergent path that is stuck on raising inscriPtion. all other skills are at GM, inscribe is now 71.6. I am using it to spawn with and am having a lot of success. With that character i get looting rights on almost all that i do, with misses on Therion due to amount of people there. I have gotten multiple drops armor, scrolls, titles, everything but taming books. You can play this game on a pure mage and get drops, make money and have fun. the problem isn't that you are required to have taming IMO, but that is what people expect they need to have. So i think the thing is the people playing want that versus needing it as you can compete and get great loot on a pure mage. just my .02 and my experience.

    A Goblin, a Gargoyle, and a Drow walk into a bar . . .

Also on the part about exclusive content. Tamers have to get the knowledge and lures to get their "special" weapons (pets). Those weapons just drop for Warriors. ones with slayers that drop on bosses. Tamers have to get the book and or lure for their special pet. they just made it more of a story for the tamer and made it "oh look, i found this special magical weapon on my kill" for Warriors. They should probably make it a story for the wepons. make a recipe for it and you have to gatehr a special ingredient to have a crafetr make it. and the Crafter cannot learn the recipe but has to learn to gather the ingredient for it and has to have the recipe from the fighter in pack to make it or whatever would work, bottom line make it more interesting than "here's the weapon"

What's the full template? I just want sword and shield templates to be strong.  I guess thats where I get continuously disappointed.

Yea some content path for weapons would be cool.  For special weapons..  Maybe even with unique graphics other skills can't use.  Like Tamers walking around with all these unique monsters.

But that still has room for tamer.  You're probably going tamer right?

I don't agree that taming bestiaries should be made to seem good in anyway. They're bad design, and where they do elongate game play, its artificial and mind numbing. Its gate keeping, and it is not fun.

Personally, I have more fun at champ spawns (not peerless) by nuking waves with firehorns.

Just want to update. This Simple mage that I haven't even finished the inscription on recieved a White Wyrm Bestiary, a Winter's light, and an Earthquake scroll from the Same Therion last night. that was the third run of Ice champ and 5th champ overall yesterday. I'm beginning to think i won't finish this one ever. It get's too many good drops lol. And of course I was most excited to get the Earthquake scroll . . .

This begs the question even more then of what are the requirements for getting drops? Seems to be totally random and makes no sense….what say you @Kyronix
