What would make you play or stay?

I am thinking of leaving, had three pink mares stolen or killed, the totems don't work, if a player has a pet and says all guard it will kill the color mare, if a player leaved to stall and comes back they can kill the Mare.

We actually pay for the totems and I personally have had 7 that didn't spawn any color. Its not even pay too win win anymore its pay to lose or be cheated out of what you paid for.

Aslo,,,

After how ever many days now its been of the event towns i have 29 drops, some guy was selling 3000 in chat, it really just makes me want too give up.

Stay - but from what you've posted, I'm guessing you're on Atlantic. Consider moving, or creating a new character on another shard.
Many people are getting more drops than I - I don't think about what they've got, I think about whether I will have enough for the items I want by the time the event ends in February.

I'd consider myself lucky if I had 3 of the enchanted origin mares spawn; I've spent hours upon hours using the totems without a single one spawning.

That said, it's up to you if you want to stay or not. What I can tell you is that the botting/scripting isn't going away anytime soon. I'm at a bit of a crossroads myself because it's not fun to me that only 2 maybe 3 invasion towns (on ATL) are even worth showing up to and the rest are wasted time competing again the scripted trains or stationary archer/throwers. This is how every event has been the post several years; it's like clockwork. I'm at the point where I'm just waiting for the bots to start selling drops for under 1M and I'll just buy the things I want. My only hang up about that is the fact that I've pretty much waited all year for an event with good rewards and now I'm not playing it...I don't need to keep a subscription to do that.

Atlantic is a dumpster fire, sure its the most populated shard but its an overall garbage gaming experience (my opinion).

Find a good group of folks on another shard; you will be so much happier.

If greed is driving the decision go.  If it's fun stay.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

You're not paying to win, and you tbh you shouldn't have any more right to what spawns just because you paid for a higher chance for something to spawn. But people are feebleminded now and think their dollar holds any actual value over someone else's subscription.

You're gambling. There is no guarantee that you will get anything just because you put a dollar into the machine. The sooner people understand that, the sooner they can start to mentally and emotionally cope with the idea of a semi-open world game.

One of our guild members got a 2 slot purple mare today, his first, he did it without totems, and it has taken him an estimated 10,000 kills.

My son got one on the 2nd day, without totems, and got one in 3 hours.

    It is RNG.

The drops from the town invasion are so easy to get - and there is so much time, take your time and relax on it.
Ask yourself, what are the bots even achieving if you get what you need?
The players are not there the whole time, there are peak and quiet periods, it will get quieter as time goes by, there is absolutely no hurry.
I killed it tbh, now I just relax, and cycle around the different content just enjoying it all.

    2 other solutions.
    - Go to Felucca.
    - Move off Atlantic.

    Or just relax.

Yeah. I've had so many guild mates quit the game in the past because of this. Large community guilds dissolved to nothingness. It's demoralizing seeing the same group of 30 bot sampires run manifestations 24/7 and then they shift to the ToT when it was released. Nothing like us putting in hours of work to get a reward only to see it worthless on vendors.

The best part is when I suggested the drops/rewards be "account bound" that would absolutely 100% stop the RMT bots running these 24/7, I got incredible pushback saying, "oh but then I couldn't sell the drops". These people don't get a legit player trying to compete against bots that are getting 600-900 drops a day across 30 afk bots surely make it so the legit player doing a few hours a day, maybe getting a hundred, his drops are quite valuable. These people are delusional.

How demoralizing is it seeing 30 vendors at one house with 125 drops each for sale when that would take a legitimate player the duration of the event?

To be honest, the fact you're feeling this way, if I were you: I'd just quit. Rip the bandaid off while you can. What I especially wouldn't do is buy totems/potions to increase your drops if you stick around.

Yea, have them go to Fel. So instead of getting a couple dozen drops an hour they get nothing, great idea.

Move off Atlantic. That's like going from driving a Ferrari to a Nissan Versa CVT. Another brilliant one.

What are bots achieving? Wasting people's time. The market floor is set by the 20 bots racking up to 1000 points a day each. That fancy set of melee legs you just spend 3 days farming a few hours a day? Worth at best 80m lmao.

If people weren't buying there'd be no bots

How is that analogy about ATL being a ferrari accurate?  Walk me through that?

The problem is with Atlantic players, is their view is distorted from reality and the rest of the world.
You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot force it to drink.
    So be it.

Right now, I use my dungeon rogue in Khaldun, to finalise the Kotl plate suit, and look for the ultra rare.
I use my treasure hunter for maps, then do Manifestations.
I do town invasion for drops.
I use my dungeon rogue in towns to look for the event stealable.
I could farm nightmares if I wanted.

There is just do much to do, it is all playing so well, I'm really relaxed, enjoying it so much, and cycling through different characters to vary the content.
Guild did an Oaks, and Harry tonight, been doing spawns, pvp a lot when ive wanted to - honestly, just so much to do.
I don't know where you guys get all this negativity from.

It is not all as desperate as you all think it is.

And tonight my boys joined me, and we got that at an EM Event.
Just so pleased with how the game is going.
If you all just played, and stopped whining, you'd do well.

The world is absurd, where the wicked thrive, and justice is almost non-existent. Most of us are envious of those who profit unfairly, and we lack the luxury to be outraged by criminals who don't directly affect us. Most people must simply play the hand they're dealt.

The fact that you can be angry is evidence that you still have some privilege.

You don't need to shut your eyes, ears, and mouth, but you'd be much better off focusing on more enjoyable things.

    Welcome to the dead shards!

It's because we have corrupted GM that cover for bots, third party users and racism with forum moderator that can barely read.

Do not blame the game.. blame the corrupted and bias staff working at BS..

UO is great.. BS is not.. and unfortunatly BS is in charge.. so for now corruption and bias is king.

The good players leaving and the bad one reign.. i'm blaming @Mesanna personally for such poor management.
So rather than recognise the effort the botters went to, to set all that up - for the benefit of the players, to help get certain items, something you could never be bothered to do, you would rather drag people backwards to your neanderthal world?

Maybe the people who forever sit in judgement of others and don't get on with their own life, are the wicked people.

    They are certainly more miserable.

An FYI  tossed in here.  The giant Turkeys are on each year, I don't think they turn them off, One just ran amuck in Luna  on Atlantic.  Lots of deaths, Turkey was not Guard whacked.

You have to kill many turkeys to get one.

Don’t really know how much experience you have had with UO.  Honestly UO has more internal problems than any other game I have ever played, and the games performance level often varies from one night to the next, often it varies materially during a several hour play session.  The first couple years of play can be really frustrating due to the really steep learning curve incorporated into the games original design, and your lack of funds.  But if you find other players you like to play with, that can make up for all the game’s shortcomings.

Maybe as has been suggested try a different shard.  Most events appear, like this the current event, to be designed for smaller groups of players, on my shard usually about a half dozen during the time of night that I play.  But, on the downside as time goes on fewer are playing the event.  With the shattered event it does not matter so much dropwise how many are playing.

if you are a returning player and like the game, I would stick with it. If you don’t have much invested, and are still looking around, I would keep looking.  Players I have met that really have applied themselves, and that’s not me, have really advanced in the game, but it takes awhile.

On my shard I usually get about 6 to 8 drops, and if I participate in necromancer battle three or four more.  That’s with usually four to six other players participating.
