Be careful using the repair crate. Things can fall on ground.

If the player who needs items repaired uses a repair crate.

Put your items in the crate.
Open the crate so you can see items.
Drag that open crate window to the side.
Click crate - select crafter.
Click accept in trade window.
Everything in crate is repaired. yay

If you do not open the crate and select crafter and click ok in trade window.  All the stuff falls on the ground.

If you grab a repaired item from the crate and drop it back into  the crate it will fall on the ground.

So there are two ways to have your items fall onto the ground.

Be aware when filling from a container.  If you click your backpack, it will also take items from the bags inside your backpack also, which is fine.  But maybe you were just storing things in the bag and didn't really want those items repaired or out.

Also  Carpentry repairs does not work with a crate.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

I noticed that someone posted that a normal saw will allow repairs with a carpenter using the crate.
Other Carp tools do not work with the crate.

  • I have had the same issue on repairs. This raises concern in having repairs done at all by anyone other than your own crafter, which by default, uses one of the two prized character slots thus furthering the need for a third slot for a crafter.
  • If they would incorporate repair deeds all the repair issues would go away actually. We would'nt necessarily "need" a slot just for a crafter anymore for repairs.
