so i did the whole mage questline and killed the orc champ, now i wanted to add poisoning. i went to Brit and saw the advanced trainer and bought the 50 poison skill points. so i'm 100 mage 100 eval 100 med 100 wrestle 100 scribe and 50 poisoning. problem now is i cannot find any skill center to give me a quest to gain poisoning. i've tried casting poison on things and then kill them with magery with no gains. i've casted poison fields and then killed things and no gains. sooo please if someone would be so kind to explain how to gain in poisoning that would be great. please note that I did not do the assassin questline because i wanted to keep my inscription as well. i'm just looking for a way to gain over the 50 i bought as a mage.

Poisoning is easier to gain for a warrior.
Try putting poison on weapons and see if it gains.

After the initial quests,  You have to gain non craft skills by doing.

    I found this:

    Training

The first thing to realize about training poisoning is that failure hurts! You will need to be prepared to cure yourself, be it potions, spells or bandages. Which ever method best suits your skill set.

Drag the skill icon to the desktop from the skills list if playing in classic client, or to a hotbar slot if playing in enhanced client, or create a macro. Use skill, poisoning – target potion – target item to be poisoned (food, shuriken, fukiya or weapon). If a weapon, it must be one which has infectious strike as a special move. There is a delay between attempts, approximately eight seconds.

Crystal Ball of knowledge will help you determine when to increase the potion level. The following figures are a guideline only

    • 0 – 30: Train at an NPC Thief Guildmaster
    • 30 – 39.9: Apply Lesser Poison
    • 40 – 64.9: Apply Poison
    • 65 – 91.9: Apply Greater Poison
    • 92 – 100: Apply Deadly Poison
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

isnt that the idea of the production shards? NL is quite different i believe. I've looked around and i havent found a potion seller NPC either.

Players make potions.  I would assume the shop where alchemy is given would have them.  Not many NPCs in NL that work.
