Character Creation Issue

When I create a character and start the game, it makes me bald and nothing like what I wanted to look like. I was given the option to create a Gargoyle, Human or Elf. Is this because we're not supposed to use other races except human? If that's the case, those options need to be removed from the character creation screen.

They shouldn't appear when you go to create a character on New Legacy shard. Which client are you logging in with?
