Keep design changes improperly placed

Hi I have a keep  that is already converted into one of the custom designs it was a converted about 5 years ago 
it currently says it’s improperly placed and I can’t change the design to a different one 
does a demolish and place a new keep let me select a different design or will it be stuck as a classic keep if I do that ?

Not sure anyone can say 100% is it worth the risk? On Atlantic I'd say no way most other shards have keep spots open so go for it
