How long after placing until it produces maps?
Does it have to be a house you own or co-owned ok?

    owner of house has to claim items from vet rewards co-owners can only place them

    It takes 1 week after placement to produce a map.  The 2nd map is produced one week after that first week. etc. So if you place the map on a Sunday you will get one new map on each following Sunday. Unless of course the shard crashes and the timer is not restarted. At which point your new map is delayed the number of days the timer is not running.
