Boss revamp idea

To make Navrey, Cora, Doom, Stygian Dragon, Medusa etc interesting, how about a monthly revamp,  each boss has a new set of arti, pets, mounts, deco drops on a rotating basis to repopulate the boss encounters?

Say 10 new drops per boss, when the month is up and the "event" jumps to the next encounter the old event Boss and Artis return to original state?

or a combination of

Jan -  Navrey, Cora
Feb - Medusa, Meli
March - Travesty, Stygian Dragon
April - Paroxy, Grizzle
May - Andros, T Rex

and so forth.  If you missed Navrey one month, it pops up again later in the year.  Then you can still get tangles etc when it reverts but a chance of something completely new when its live........

Be nice to get groups to visit these bosses for a chance of a new USEFUL drop?

Could even include T maps, SOS etc

Leave champs or maybe even add these for PVP battles etc so Red can benefit?

That is fine, or make some new on ones like Navrey that can be soloed in 10 to 15 mins or done with a group and put new drops on those.
Focus on what you can do, not what you can't.

Or add every arty to the random roll. Then people could really do what they like and have a shot at everything.

every boss should drop a cameo... why only shadowguard...
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Because if that were the case people would stop going to shadowguard.

Why would someone want to take 60min (likely or more) to finish all the rooms AND beat the boss every single time when someone could just pop into to fight navrey or bang out 5 sets of Lady Mel keys in 30min and run it back to back in under an hour?

End Game type drops should only come from end game type content.

If done correctly, it could be a real winner. There are players that enjoy different bosses.

Let's take roof. The main rolls would obviously be what's supposed to drop but lets say you add in a 2-3% chance at rolling some of the other arties. It would be a great added bonus.

They could go a step further and add in some bosses into some of these unused dungeons with random rolls for certain arties.

Better yet, a universal drop system like the treasures. Either do things the old way or grind your way to whatever arty you want.
  • The whole game needs revamping, Mesanna said she would revamp the harrower loot table 6 years ago.

Maybe a chance to  spawn a random boss say you just finished killing bane when a horrower spawns or medusa lady mel etc
Acknowledgment and accountability go a long way...

Lmao good luck, we've been trying to get the devs to re-vamp the harrower for over a decade now. Make it harder to kill so it cant be solod, bump the loot up with guaranteed like 2 legendaries per person with looting rights, add +5 commendations to the loot table. That way it can actually be worth fighting over.

They already said the small team can't handle every bug and request for the main game...
but they can handle both UO & NLS fine.

I would gladly not have the next treasures event in favour of revamped legacy/peerless boss loot tables.

Imo a devteam that says they're not capable of recycling old content and redeveloping it to cut down on wasted and outdated content aren't actual developers but instead just glorified janitors being paid a salary for rudimentary custodian tier work. But in this instance the term custodian is a little bit too generous.

Generally after multiple flops like what we've seen with the repeat attempt to publish a new client, any competent developers would learn by now to stop trying to re-invent the game in a way they feel it should look, and instead just play to the aesthetic nature that only UO has to offer versus other games.

Personally I don't choose to pay to play this game because I want to play something that looks like a budget version of EQ 1 in beta. I choose to play it because it looks like UO. And the resounding failures of the now three or four clients that have massively attempted re-brand the game's aesthetics should have taught them this lesson already.

It's a pity that the inhouse drama resulted in Crowner being pushed out. Because that dude actually had some really good ideas on the direction to take UO. And his openness and willingness to interact with the community both publicly and privately have been unmatched thus far. I remember emailing him at 3AM once after witnessing something we'll just call "strange" and 3 hours later he replied, and spent over four hours with me working on re-creating it, then later that night it was patched. Or when he'd actually bounce around the different servers actively seeking out the PVP "hot spots" on each server just to have open discussions with the pvpers about what they felt should be balanced. Same with PvM players, he'd spend hours every day discussing their old favorite places, where they'd like to hunt again. We have him to thank for the original shame loot changes.
