Hirelings inn

It would be cool to be able to train and pay for hirelings like pets and make armor for them and have them on an adventure with you. It would be a lot of fun. Store them at a inn

Helpers like in Diablo.  I would like that. Would give us a use for the armor we have in chests.

Hopefully they don't use pet AI.

So far only swampy has armor but protects the rider. Maybe the next pet upgrade should have pet armor.

Would they take up pet slots?

They would be a pet or summon substitute so yes.

You can put armor and weapons on the ones in Diablo and they gain skills as they fight.

Can choose from a melee type that rushes in to fight, a caster type that stands back and casts, or a distance spear thrower.

Like pets they would advance,  we could choose abilities and skills and supply them with weapons and armor.

UO could do the same idea.  Melee, Distance (archer/thrower) or a magic user.

The paladin archer will be a hot favorite.

I think it would be cool to have a pet with archery, similar to the Centaurs in despise.  Though it would probably require a new pet command so you could tell them were to stand but still attack.

This would have PvP implications so definitely need to sort through how ranged pet damage would apply to players.

The Jhelom fighters seem to think the Moonglow escorts are pretty hot.
    Just saying.... o:)
