I hang out in Atlantic Haven a lot and the kind of people who ask me where to go next don't know how to script yet. Anyway these dungeon revamps were the peak era of effort being wasted because the devs were too out of touch. They actually thought s…

That sounds absolutely miserable. I can't imagine caring about these records and I'd be irritated at the void pool being bricked all night while people pointlessly ran it up. Thank god for newbs who run past the pool chamber when being chased.

So put vet rewards in the UO store, who cares?

They desperately need to elevate at least one of their clients to the standard of an acceptable commercial product.

These guys don't seem to have the ambition to make meaningful mechanical changes anymore, so instead we get this kind of cargo cult version of game balance enforced through content updates. Whenever they add something that involves PVM combat, they …

Sure, there were a number of games that touted themselves that way, all with a heavy focus on unrestricted PVP. The most prominent one I can think of was Shadowbane. That one lived a whole six years. There were several others but I can't even rememb…

LOL Charybdis. They added a boss with a complex summoning ritual and loot consisting of armor with unique one-of-a-kind properties, but forgot that nobody was going to wear a suit that needed to burn half its imbue slots just getting resists up to s…

This has absolutely nothing to do with using the stealing skill, against players or otherwise. What a strange tangent to bring up in defense of scamming. Be a big boy and just say "I think scamming should be allowed because lol" instead of trying to…

LBR was kind of a crappy expansion thrown together from leftover chunks of the cancelled UO2 project (at least partly in order to avoid EA being sued by Todd McFarlane) but it did mark the period in which I maintain that the game was at its all-time…

I've literally never seen anyone in-game even mention NL. It's a boondoggle with zero hype. They've squandered effort that could have gone toward getting at least one of the clients into non-embarrassing shape.

Yeah it's awful again. Shard crashing must have cleared some sort of cache. The entire dungeon server is unusable. All the legacy dungeons are effectively shut down. This isn't acceptable.
-
Yeah it's pretty awful. I notice if you're in there and then leave, until that void pool ends, your journal is slow to open. That makes me think the system is constantly communicating with every client in there, and every client that was in there at…

My favorite example has always been the epiphany armor. They went to the trouble of adding a new unique item property to the game and then literally no one ever wore it because the developers didn't realize that nobody wanted armor with NPC trash le…

Game desperately needs a first-party client that isn't a huge mess, yeah. The CC runs worse than ever, and the EC is an unsalvageable trainwreck.
-
The event is seemingly intended to have multiple avenues of gathering hats. The fact that only one method is actually viable thus seems like a problem, regardless of how happy you are personally to also get some small gems and assorted mib trash.
-
I'd just stop participating before I bothered caring about the pitiful low level of hats from everything besides the void pool.
-
Yeah the rewards are just a couple of mediocre artifacts made worthless with the antique property, and some resource harvesting items that should have been low-tier BOD prizes. That whole era was the absolute peak of embarrassingly bad item rewards …

I think the event is overly focused on the void pool, but I can't complain otherwise. The bots parked near the entrance are lame, but the event gives out enough goodies that I'm not really bothered. I'll be able to get what I want and more besides. …

Because that would cost millions and millions of dollars and wouldn't make sense even if you were willing to spend the money. The games have virtually nothing in common other than being RPGs where people fight things. Writing a new 3D engine from sc…
