No difference in Cannons The normal cannon balls damage the ship only. fire and frost cannon balls damage the crew and ship Grapeshot damages the ship and crew i don't know exact distances or angles, sorry.

Two Guardians spawn for each character/pet in the room. been like this forever the pet is not counted if you are riding it though.
