Bugged Rune

I was marking runes the other day & to make it quicker, I marked them inside my converted castles. And I used the pen of wisdom to copy the books. None of the castle runes work. The first one tells me that "Something is blocking the location" and the other one does nothing at all.
someone said they had heard that if you have stuff on the steps, that it will "block" you being able to recall in... one castle has crafted blocks on the steps but the other doesn't have anything on the steps.
