Open Letter to the Developers - Part 2 - BE CIVIL

Disclaimer:
This post adheres to forum rules, aiming to spark constructive discussion. It does not condone scripting or exploitation.

Ultima Online has immense potential, yet it remains shackled to outdated client versions, leaving players frustrated.

While nostalgia is key, third-party clients like "O" have proven the benefits of modernization.

  • better FPS,
  • grid backpacks,
  • advanced search options,
  • smoother gameplay.

These enhancements cater to modern gaming expectations, drawing thousands despite known drawbacks like scripting. you cant close your eyes to the fact that 1000's of people use. YES Thousands of PAID customer.

and Yes, you cant Deny as well that the recent lag issues from abuse players during events required action.

but dismissing better client options altogether alienates the PvP community.

Why focus solely on a web-based version that doesn’t meet PvP needs? Its full of Bugs, crashing and many things more I can list and the Devs have nothing to do with the support.  It feels like PvP players are being sidelined.

Ignoring these concerns risks losing a substantial player base. Open the dialogue, embrace change, and ensure Ultima Online remains vibrant.

I cant post pictures, but we cant deny that the current client options we have, you cant find anything inside a vendor that have 100 super small rings for sale. you have to really browse 1 by 1 and they are sooooo small, when you could use a GRID backpack and have a search function? already available?   also the fact you can play with super smooth screen and better FPS?

Ignoring these concerns risks losing a substantial PAID player base. Open the dialogue, embrace change, and ensure Ultima Online remains vibrant.

There IS a modern alternative, its called the EC and with Pinto's legal interface you can have all you want (apart from auto follow) and more

Players have get over the graphics issue,  after a period of time you will not even remember the 25 year old client

So, the ClassicUO webclient does all of the things you say this other client does.

Why aren't these people using ClassicUO webclient? I probably already know the answer, and its not anything that you listed but I am curious what you'll claim.

I'm also curious where you're pulling the data for the substantial paid player base. Outside of a mention that less than 5% of players across ALL shards are doing the events in fel, I've never seen anything about the number/percentage of players who frequently or exclusively participate in PvP.

Can you provide links to the data you're pulling this info from? I'd like to take a look.

    NO
there is a reason only a small fraction of people play EC, that is NOT UO

    Yes.

I'm tired of fighting it. I'm not going to anymore.
There is a zealot part of the playerbase that under-estimates us, and I cannot be bothered.

WebCUO has some better features than the cc but its lacking many other features the ec has

Could that be because 95% of the player base doesn't actually prefer PvP because of the reputation (and obviously founded reputation) that PvPers have?

I think you are very wrong on your facts.

I'm happy to let you find out. All yours.

What PVP needs are not in either the web client or the EC? Can you add some specifics?

You think? I'm totally supportive of discussions, but at least provide facts and data to back up your stance. Otherwise you're just speculating.

I'll ask you, since the ClassicUO webclient provides solutions to all of the issues OP listed above, why don't these users use that client? As I mentioned, I and many others already know the answer but I'd love to hear your reasoning.

You already know the answer, so I'm not going to supply you with anything.
You have a closed mind, nothing I can say, can make any difference.
You have a twisted agenda from the start, you are not asking in any sort of good faith, so I will not respond to you again. No point.
You carry on with your facts.

can we NOT turn this thread into client wars or board pvp please?

A tiny point. Most us are paying customers. only the devs are paid.

Between the CC with/without UO:A, the EC, and the CUO web client, you can find a client that works for you.

As far as I'm aware, CUO web client covers all your requirements. Do you want more things added? Or have a crash? Get in the discord and help improve the CUO web client. They're incredibly active from what I've seen and it will get infinitely more updates than the official two, unlike your cheat client who's developer is M.I.A.

Yeah, I think they've already show they don't care to lose your "PAID" subscriptions that surely aren't paid in full. It's ruining the gameplay for regular players, so begone. You guys ruined it for yourself.

You couldn't keep it on the down low.
You had to interfere with PVP and ruin it for players like myself.
You couldn't help yourself to expand to PVM.
Just couldn't help yourself even more, and ran these activities 24/7
Then you couldn't help yourself even more, you expanded to:

    EVERY

    ASPECT

    OF

    THE

    GAME

...and you did it with 20-50+ paid characters, some with 100's of EJs, running 24/7: at Shadowguard, trade routes for slims, Eodon quests sakkhran birds of prey, fully unattended bots placing houses, farming splinter weapons, doing ToTs, doing the manifestations, literally every aspect of the game.

You know what enabled all of this? Your cheat client. So don't blame us, don't blame the devs: blame yourself.

You have ruined the game and have already made quit 100x the amount of players that will be lost because they can't use their cheat client scripting IDE.

So boo. F**king. Hoo. You are all rats.

Also, I will never take anyone serious that's trying to defend these clients until they reveal their true in game persona/identity.

Until then I have a suggestion: QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME QUIT THE GAME

    1. I have specifically requested an ability to remove tree's to make them tree stumps before.
    2. I have also requested an ability to to toggle buildings/walls out of the way. (This also helps with lag).
    3. I cannot remember if WebCUO has allowed Aura's to be activated (I think not?). When you are fighting 10vs10, being able to tell who is orange, and who is green is critical - again, it is all about information to the brain.

Vision (and movement) is critical in pvp.
To actually be able to see yourself, or your opponent, or where you are running.

If you run behind a huge building, everyone is completely blind.

I know a lot of players also adapt field graphics - I have never had a need to do that, my vision is fine with original Classic field graphics.

WebCUO is to slow why cant they make it the same speed as EC and add all the other features the EC and CC with UO:A has ? Its all legal is it not ? Why allow some clients to have advantages over others ?

Nope, I could not, I only came back because a fixed client alternative was available.

When I see your posts, I see a lot about your personality, and you are correct, I actually do not want to play in a game with guys like you. It's funny how you make pvpers out to be the bad guys, when you post with such hate and judgement yourselves.

    I agree, and accept.
I think it is time to realise pvpers are not getting any consideration at all.

when you get used to the graphics believe me its amazing, especially what Pinco has done with it.  the screen size, Xoom. so much better!

But you have to get used to the graphics....

My subscriptions are absolutely paid in full, you guys make so many assumptions.

It will take quite a few new players, just to cover me. So let's hope you got your maths and your facts right.
