So, let me get this straight: The solution to the lag at the ToTs in the town is a... non-solution?

We are all aware that the idea to reduce the lag by diluting characters to the solen hive isn't addressing the actual problem, right? And half the cities still have dismal spawn. Will we get more spawn?? And given enough players in these towns it will still lag. This is a non-solution and doesn't fix anything. The towns on these large subservers are clearly the problem.

Yes, I haven't play tested out the solen hive yet, but you couldn't have picked a worse place (well, aside towns) for players to fight: long tiny hallways. I can't imagine how the spawn is going to be. Worse than the towns? Then no one will be there and we're back to square one in laggy cities! I would really have loved to hear the decision behind this. I bet they figured since people can't recall it would solve the 'bots'. Yet once again decisions are made to punish 'bots' that actually just punish regular players.

So you haven't tested it and you are already complaining?  Your feedback is in bad faith.

"Long tiny hallways", you mean like.... every other dungeon that has hosted a ToT?   In fact I think a lot of the hallways in Solen Hive are larger than many dungeons, which means plenty of space for Atlantic players.

vs deceit which has been used twice

Let's talk about the other changes they have made also from player feedback:
    • Resolved issue where Provocation would not work on invasion monsters
    • Resolved issue where monsters killed after the invasion conclusion would not count toward Artifact drops
    • Hidden chest poison has been capped at level 4
    • Greatly reduces the chance of monsters spawning on rooftops in certain towns
Wasn't the last points one of your feedback?

Let's give the Devs some respect and actually test things before getting enraged.

I guess they're leaving the ants turned on? Whatever at this point. Botters won, events suck now.

Give the new changes a try before you add your negative comment.

I consider this an atlantic-fix, since its the most croweded shard.
For the botters this ant-hive cause some problems with the teleporters, but as we've seen from the deceit events, teleporters are no match versus scripts.  But then why would bots go ant-hive when they already have the towns.   If this were a fix to stop botters you need other measures.

Its all fair when the event ends and botters have 20k dynamic items while rest has 2k turned in.

If I remember right Solin Hives are just one big maze with portals that magically just take you someplace else within the maze.  There is no logic involved.  It’s just a maze.  Really the logic on this one defies me.  Will event be running nonstop in the hives?  Isn’t all just one big hive?  Have not explored them that much so not really that familiar with them, and not really interested in becoming familiar with them.

The Hives are awesome, one of my favourite places in the game. There is a ton of logic to them, it is a maze, that's the point, they are fun.

You whole post is some weird straw man.

I don't have to test anything to know that given the same amount of characters in cities it will still lag the equal amount.  :D The title of the thread is accurate. I would really like to know how this is bad faith. It's called logic; unless they've done something active to actually reduce lag this is a non-fix, just hoping people spread out more.

And since you've been following my posts enough to know that monsters spawning on roofs was my suggestion, you'll know the second, third, and fourth parts of that was monsters being stuck in walls, unreachable places, and the auto-unstuck monster teleport isn't triggering enough. 25% is a failing grade.

Again, since you've been following my posts, you'll know that my other suggestion and one that was incredibly well received from last ToT was doing them in a large wide open area. It's incredibly odd that they've taken a few players suggestions to do ToTs inside of cities, yet, multiple people have asked for Winter Spur/the Wastes, or similar, yet we don't get that. There was a meaningful effort to pick something that's incredibly inconvenient for players and the only conclusion is was that it was to slow down bots... somehow.

It's almost like I posted "Yes, I haven't play tested out the solen hive yet..." but I can already tell you going in to the solen hive for anything is quite annoying. No recall, very long hallways, incredibly larger 'square foot' area. If you did deceit on Atlantic you would know players hardly left the entrance.  A large part of that was to point out and make sure that the AFK detection is on for the dungeon which conveniently you didn't mention.

You're not even an Atlantic player and I've made it quite clear in my posts the feedback is directed towards Atlantic players. So perhaps take your own advice and play on Atlantic, see for yourself, before being enraged at me? You don't even play Atlantic, your entire post is in bad faith.

@username When was the last time you were in the Solen Hive?  You can recall out of the Trammel one and according to the publish notes that is the only facet other than on Siege & Mugen that it would be running in.

This post has too many words and not enough crayons and uncolored pictures.
@Mariah please lock this thread before someone says the three letter word starting with b, ending with t, and an o nestled neatly betwixt them.

@username I didnt bother reading your wall of text because I feel there is little value in a majority of what you write on these forums.  If I had to guess what was contained in those paragraphs, I would sum it up with:

    WiNtEr SpUr

    Was I right?

I go down there occasionally to tame blue beetles. Apologies, I should have been more clear: you cannot recall in to it, ie mark runes inside. Unless they've changed it.

  • There's gonna be crowds of bots packed down there 24/7 for the next two months solid. Everyone will page on them. Absolutely nothing will happen to any of them.

Next spring a new event will be announced. Someone on this forum will ask the developers if they plan to do anything about all the botters. The community manager will swing by and helpfully tell everyone to page a GM if they think they see a bot.
